Keji's POV:
I was in a corner reading The Fault in Our Stars again when I picked up on a conversation that some girls in my class were having. I have no idea who they are, but I know at least one is on the soccer team. The one with completely blonde hair said something about zombies. When the dirty blonde one told her that she was overreacting, I agreed. There are no such things as zombies. I think that I have heard of the infection that they are talking about though on a blog or something, but it only said that people were getting sick not turning into the walking dead. That's just ridiculous. The girls finally go over to where the rest of the students are so I continue reading. A few minutes go by before I hear someone yell my name. It was one of my friends, Astrid.
Keji: What?!
Astrid: Let's go, we're leaving. Like now. Almost everyone is on their buses.
Keji: Why didn't you say something earlier?
Astrid: Are you kidding me right now? I've been calling you for five minutes. You were too busy reading that da- dang book. Now can we go please?
Keji: Okay okay I'm coming.
We run outside the hotel we were staying at and onto the tour bus. My Social Studies teacher, Mr. Phillips, was standing outside the bus door with an annoyed look on his face. I mutter a quick "Sorry" when I pass him. I take my seat next to the window and Astrid sits next to me. Soon the buses are on their way and while everyone is talking, I look out the window and see an unusual sight. It was a man sitting on a bench outside of a store. He was deathly pale with brown and purple bruises all over his face. He was just sitting there staring with his mouth open. I squint hard enough to see that his tongue as well as his teeth are completely black. He looked brain dead.
Keji: What the fuck?
Astrid: What?
Keji: Nothing, I just thought I saw something.
Maybe that girl was right. The infection is spreading and turning people into zombies... No I'm just paranoid, right? I decide not to look out the window anymore and sit back in my seat to try to digest this. The more I think about it the more I convince myself that the blonde girls is right. Then I think This makes no sense. There's no way that a zombie apocalypse is starting. It's only something people created in their minds that will never happen. Or will it?
Natalie's POV:
I'm listening to music with my eyes closed, going over my new dance routine in my head when the tour guide announces that we are at the museum. I wrap my headphones around my iPod and but it in my bag. Then I have to wait until everyone shuffles off the bus so that I can finally get out. I stretch my legs and look around for some of my friends. I spot Allie and Lily talking to each other, so I walk over and join them.
Natalie: Hey guys. What's up?
Lily: Hey Nat. Nothing much just talking about what we're going to get for lunch.
Natalie: Food? Well you've got my full attention.
Allie: Haha. Well we were thinking that we should just grab some pizza.
Natalie: Fine with me. So are you guys ready for the tour.
Lily: I am. It's sad but the Holocaust kind of interests me.
Allie: I'm ready. It's that one girl Alyssa I'm worried about. I heard the Holocaust really gets to her.
Natalie: I'm sure she'll be fine. I think we're going inside. Come one let's go.
We walk inside with everyone else and I grab one of those informational brochures that are right inside. As we walk around I get separated from Allie and Lily and end up in a space where there aren't many people. By the time fifteen minutes had passed, I had scanned through all the information cards except one section. Before there was woman standing there I thought I'd look at the other places and by. the time I did that they would have moved on. Only the woman is still there. Damn, does it really take the long to read a few paragraphs? I start to get a little impatient so I tap the woman on her shoulder to try and get her attention.
When she turns around I'm greeted by a hideous face. Her skin is pale white with brown spots all over it. Her eyes are hollow and ringed in black. Her lips are black as well as her nails. She basically looks like she's a decaying body. I gasp and start to back away.
That's when she leaps on me.
