It's been a week since I decided to take a break from J. Don't get me wrong I still love him but I still need my space. Luckily, the wound Bruce had wasn't too serious it just needed to be stitched up and Alfred did that after telling me to go rest. My thoughts were interrupted by Bruce knocking and opening my door.

"Hey Belle how you holding up?"

I shrugged my shoulders not sure how I should feel.

"I mean I'm sad and I miss him a lot but I can't go back knowing he'll still hurt the ones I love."

Bruce walked over and sat next to me rubbing my arm.

"Here I want you to have this," he says while handing me a small device with the bat symbol on it. "It's for when you're out on your own because I heard him say how he'll still find you. Just a safety precaution." I gave him a small smile and hugged him.

"Thanks Bruce. You, Alfred, and Damian are all I have." I was starting to tear up so I pulled back and looked away.

"Hey um I think I'm going to go out tonight and visit a friend."

"Ok make sure you have the bat symbol with you." I rolled my eyes and smiled pushing him out of the door. "Yeah yeah I know." I shut the door and dialed Selina's number.

"Hey uh Selina you free tonight? I just need to talk about some things."

"Yea sure come over the door is open." I put together an outfit and left without saying bye to Bruce and Alfred first.

I was speed walking to Selina's place trying to be quiet because of course I was still paranoid of J finding me. Every noise made me look around and I just decided to run not caring if I looked crazy. I got into the apartment building and quickly opened her door and closed it shut then I slowly slid down so I was sitting on the ground.

"Well hello to you too what happened?" She helped me up and led me to her couch and poured me some tea.

"Having boyfriend problems I assume?" I took a sip and nodded "You have no idea. It's complicated right now."

"You're basically like a sister to me Isabelle so spill and tell me what he did." I sunk back into the couch and looked at her.

"Well he was being suspicious and I had a feeling he did something I wouldn't like so I decided to talk to him about it and he snapped at me and told me to shut up. Later on he went out and so I decided to look for him and I found him in an alleyway with Bruce injured and J holding a gun to his head. I yelled at him to stop and how he could do something like that to me. He also said I wasn't going to leave him that easily after I said I wasn't going to stay with him."

Selina just stared at me and set down her cup on the coffee table.

"Well you just put yourself in a potentially dangerous situation but I don't blame you. I would've left his sorry ass too."

"I still love him though but I don't think I can face him yet. He lost my trust." Selina gripped my chin and gave me a small smile.

"Think of this as a new start. Have fun and don't let him hold you back and making you feel all paranoid. That's what he wants which is also why he hasn't taken you yet."

I hugged her and stood up walking towards the door.

"You're right Selina and I have the perfect idea in mind for a new start."

"Bruce I'm home can I talk to you!"

"He's in the batcave Ms. Wayne," Alfred said.

I thanked him and went to the batcave. Every time I enter it amazes me knowing my brother can pull off something so amazing.

"Hey Bruce there's something I've been meaning to tell you." He spun around to face me in his chair and raised an eyebrow motioning me to continue.

"Well, I've been thinking...I want to become the new batgirl." Bruce immediately stood up and hugged me.

"I've been waiting for you to say that, so that is why Barbara left you her old suit to let you wear if you don't mind." I nodded excitedly pulling away from the hug.

" Just wait until Damian here's about this. Also I think this will be a great new start for me."

"I'm glad you think that too."

I went back to my room and found a box sitting in my bed. I opened it to find a bouquet of blood red roses and a note attached.

I smiled at the I love you part but It dropped after reading the watching me part. I set the roses on my dresser and was about to change into pajamas but stopped when there was a knock on my door. I opened it to reveal Alfred holding up the batgirl uniform.

"I believe this is yours now." I smiled at before taking it.

"I missed talking to you Alfred."

"Same here and also roses?" I put a finger to my lips saying to not tell Bruce and he gave me a smirk while nodding his head. I giggled and took the suit and went to change in the bathroom. The suit was skin tight showing off my body with the bat sign in the middle but I was laughing at how fun it was to wear a cape. I stared at myself in the mirror wondering what J would think of this.

No no I can't think like this

I put on the mask that came with it completing the look.

Gotham's got a new batgirl now.
