Sky sat on the bus going to Rochester. Everyone was gathering at the same cabin from the year before, for the anniversary of Gabbie's death; Sky thought it was stupid, but everyone insisted that it would be good to honor her memory by visiting the place where she lost her life, so he went along with it anyway. Joey was going to be there which could turn into a total mess; They broke up shortly after Gabbie died; It was devastating since Sky really loved him, but Joey seemed happier now than when they were together. Sky plugged in his earphones and started playing some music. He didn't want the echoes of Gabbie's murder to make him want to turn back.
Shane, Jessi, Joey, Nick, and Kelly were all going with Mark in his RV since he offered to give them all a ride. Jessi and Shane were cuddled up to each other as always; Their relationship was never endangered by the tragedy of Gabbie's death, infact they became more secure in their relationship and they even got engaged a couple of months after the incident.
"Do you think Beth will come to our wedding?" Jessi asked Shane while playing with his hands.
"Beth who?" Shane asked confused.
"My cousin. I was just asking because if she doesn't show up I'm going to kick her ass. I mean, we came to her wedding despite the fact that Gabbie died only a few weeks prior." Jessi continued in monotone. Shane locked his fingers with Jessi's.
"Don't worry; She'll come." He reassured her. Jessi smiled at Shane and kissed him.
Joey held Mark's hand while he was driving; They started dating a few months after Joey and Sky broke up. Joey was really happy with Mark; Something he hadn't truly felt with Sky.
"It was nice of you to offer everyone a ride." Joey praised Mark. Mark smiled and looked at Joey before quickly turning his eyes back to the road.
"You can thank me later. A big and hard 'Thank you' would be very nice indeed." Mark whispered seductively to him. Joey smirked.
"Oh, yeah?" Joey asked before leaning forward to kiss Mark. He slipped his tounge into Mark's mouth which made him jump and swerve with the vehicle a bit.
"Hey! Watch the road!" Kelly yelled from farther back in the RV.
Mark and Joey quickly stopped kissing.
"Sorry!" Mark yelled back to Kelly before turning his attention back to the road.
Kelly turned to Nick and rolled her eyes.
"Has everybody in here signed a contract that forces them to always make out in front of me?" Kelly groaned. Nick smiled.
"Not a fan?" He asked in monotone.
"Of people shoving their perfect love lives in my face? No." Kelly responded bitterly.
David offered Dylan a ride to the cabin. They never really knew each other that well; They were the only ones in the group who weren't connected in any way, so since David didn't have history with Dylan he thought it would be unproblematic to give him a ride. Dylan cleared his throat and looked down at his hands.
"So." Dylan started. David glanced at him for a second.
"So what?" David asked before getting his eyes back on the road.
"I am a rockstar.." Dylan jokingly sang. David frowned.
"I'm sorry. I don't know why I said that." Dylan apologized before closing his eyes out of embarrassment.
"Hey, I'm the king of bad jokes. No worries." David reassured him. Dylan opened his eyes and smiled. He looked out the window and saw that they had arrived at the cabin. David carefully parked by the RV next to the shed.
Everybody else were already inside setting everything up for the party. Jessi and Joey were bringing out the alcohol, Mark was rummaging through his bags; Trying to find his speakers, Nick set up the music playlist, and Shane, Kelly, and Sky were just sitting on the couch and talking to each other.
"So, you're getting married?" Sky asked Shane.
"Yeah! Jessi proposed to me, like, 8 months ago." Shane answered with a smile. Sky smiled back.
"That's a disaster waiting to happen." Kelly mumbled to herself. Shane looked at her with a confused look.
"What the hell does that mean?" He questioned her irritably. Kelly looked up; Realizing he heard her.
"Well- I just meant it's gonna be, like, wild! I used the wrong words." Kelly said in an attempt to save herself from Shane's rage. Shane looked her up and down with a doubting look.
"Yeah, sure. I'm gonna go get some fresh air." Shane excused himself and left the room. Kelly sighed.
Shane closed the front door behind himself and stared out into the forest. He closed his eyes and breathed in the air and nature. He was gonna have to tolerate Kelly's aggression towards couples if he was going to make it through this night. Shane felt a hand on his shoulder; He figured it was Sky checking on him, until the hand reached around his throat and started choking him. Shane opened his eyes in shock to see a man with a black mask covering his face.
"What the.. hell." Shane managed to get out. He grabbed the man's arm and ripped it away from his throat. Shane coughed for a second. Just then the music turned on inside.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!? That's not funny!" Shane yelled at the man angrily. The masked man slowly walked towards Shane and stared at him.
"Is that you, Dylan? Look, I'm really not in the mood!" Shane scolded him. The man sighed. Out of nowhere he punched Shane in the face; Causing him to fall onto his back.
"What are you doing!?" Shane yelled at him; Frightened. The man sat down on Shane's stomach and wrapped both his hands around his neck. He started pushing down his thumbs hard; Causing Shane to choke more and more every second. Shane tried to push him off, but he was too weak to even move the man an inch. Shane's face was turning blue from the lack of oxygen. He stopped struggling. It was over; He was dead. The man slowly let go of Shane's throat and got off of his stomach. He grabbed both of his legs and pulled his body away from the house.
