Whoo! Finally, I got the motivation to start this. xD So, this is my very first fanfiction on Wattpad. (: Not much else to say, but there will be another author's note at the end.
Chapter 1 (October 14th, 2013)
* * * * *
"SAGE FELICITY KING! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!"
I flinched, my eyes widening a bit at my dad's voice booming from downstairs. My father didn't use my full name unless I was in some serious trouble. Shit... I thought to myself. I was almost positive I knew what he was yelling about. There's no way I'm getting out of this one...
Sighing, I set my laptop on the bed and got up, putting my phone in my back pocket. I ran down the stairs to the kitchen, where I knew he would be. I would've just stalled and took my time going down, but I knew he was in no mood to wait on me. It was pretty obvious that that would only aggravate him even more. By the time I got there, my dad was already fuming, steam practically coming out of his ears.
"Yes, daddy...?" I muttered, trying to come off as innocent as possible; which he wasn't buying, unfortunately.
"What the hell is this?!" He growled (not literally, but you know what I mean), holding up my report card. My eyes shifted over to it for a second, before turning back to him.
"Um...my report card..." I mumbled lamely, not knowing what else to say. Then he pointed a shaky finger at the letter next to the word "Algebra 2." It said "F."
Okay, yes, I know what you're thinking. You all are probably going "What? How are you failing Algebra 2? It's so easy!" Okay, maybe not all of you...But whatever. Anyway, let's just say that Math has never really been my strong suit...I've always done terrible in it. It's never been that easy for me. I sighed, a bit upset at the fact that my dad probably never even acknowledged my other grades, which were all 'A's' and 'B's.'
I saw him take a deep breath and put the piece of paper down. How is it that one sheet of paper can get me into so much freaking trouble? I'll never know. Note the sarcasm.
"I thought I told you if you got one more F in that class, you'd be in serious trouble," He said, staring me down. I bit the inside of my cheek, and stared back at him.
I honestly had nothing to say, so I just stood there like an idiot, arms crossed. "I mean it, Sage, one more grade like this, and there will be serious consequences." Sighing, I nodded. I was almost afraid to ask what kind of consequences he was talking about. I did anyway, though.
"But...what kind of consequences are we talking are here?" My father just stood there, dumbfounded. He was probably surprised I even asked, since I normally never do. He sighed and ran a hand through his salt and pepper hair.
"If you get one more bad grade in Algebra, then...I'll be forced to ban you from the rest of your Figure Skating competitions." My eyes widened, and my mouth dropped.
"What?! No, you can't do that!" I exclaimed, uncrossing my arms.
"I'm sorry, but you asked." My dad said, holding his hands up in surrender, and walking away. I followed him to his office.
"Dad, you have no idea how much that'll kill me! I have to be in this competition, do you even realize how great this could be for me?! The exposure I'll get, the experience! Are you even listening to me?!" I kept shouting things left and right, glad that my mother wasn't here right now to stop me.
My father sighed and put on his reading glasses, logging onto his computer. Since he was a buisness man, he never really had time for anything else. I was just glad that we haven't had to move for such a long time.
