Wind slicked the fur back against the black and red tom's slim frame as he raced over the grass with incredible speed. He spotted a sliver-spotted hare huddled in the grass. His bright yellow eyes glinted with exhilaration as he slowed his pace, dropping into a crouch, and slinking softly towards his quarry. When the tom was only a paw-length away, the hare straightened, catching his scent and began racing away. The tom grinned softly, and pushed off from the ground, landing squarely on the hare's back. Just as he was about to sink his razor-sharp teeth into the hare, a paw smacked him in the head, unbalancing him.
