Olympia
Ryker looks at me with a blank expression and then grabs me in a huge hug and twirls me around the room with him. "Yes. I would love to go with you!" "Shhhh. Kelly doesn't know. No one else knows." Ryker sighs. Then sits on the edge of the bed putting me down on his lap.
"How did you get them?" He asks me. I look down suddenly very interested in my hands. "a guy gave them to me when he saw that I have a bruise on my face." I mumble. "What? Sorry I don't think Alabama could hear you." Ryker says sarcastically. I say a little louder "A guy gave them to me when he saw that I have a bruise on my face."
He gently touches my face where Jake hit me. I hiss in pain and swat his hand away. "He hurt you!" Ryker cries out. "Oh I swear that little punk is gonna feel my wrath for hurting you." I grin but stop as pain flares in my cheek. "Ryker you don't have to do that." I say gently laying a hand on his shoulder. He smiles then pulls me into a hug, noticing that I need one. I lay my good cheek into his shoulder and mumble, "why are you the only one that understands me?" Rykers mouth goes to my ear and he whispers. "Because I was adopted too."
I gasp and sit up. "What? How? I knew you were to perfect to be her son." He smiles. "Because my parents died, and thanks that means that people don't see the resemblance." I look at him strangely. "She's my aunt." I look at him with shock written all over my face. "You. Related to that, Devil?!" He nods his head. I giggle. "No wonder you got the biggest room."
He shrugs. "Well my mom made Aunt Kelly and Uncle Jake take me in and treat me like their own son." I lean into him again. "Why did they pick me?" He looks at me with a smile on his face. "Because when you were standing there helping the kids, I knew you would make my life better. My cousins just call my Ryker never Cuz. I wanted you to have a good experience for life."
I look up into his blue eyes. "That's very sweet of you. Now come on, we're going to be late to the game if we don't hurry up." I scramble off of him and run into my room as he gets into his Cubs gear. I find my Bryant Jersey and my bryzzo shirt. I quickly slip them on and find my Cubs hat. I grab my Cubs converse and walk back into Ryker's room. He gives a nod of approval and I do the same to him. He's wearing jeans, his Rizzo jersey and his world series champs hat to top it off.
He grabs his keys and yells to Kelly, "I'm taking Olympia to Cates house and I'm heading over to Matts!" She yells back, "Fine! Don't forget to pick her up and be back before 11!" I look at him in surprise and he gives me the same expression back. We walk down to the garage and get in Ryker's car. I put on the radio as soon as he starts it and Shape of you by Ed Sheeran comes on. I start to sing along and by the time it's over, we have arrived at Wrigley Field.
I hop out as soon as Ryk parks the car and am running towards the crowd when he grabs my arm and pulls me towards him. "Olympia! What were you thinking? You don't run into that!" Ryker says with concern evident on his face. I look down and try not to blush in embarrassment. Ryker tilts my head back up and looks me in the eyes. "I won't always be there to protect you. Let me do it now." I look away and let him take my hand in his, even though we haven't held hands since we were 7 and 8. We walk over and I show our tickets to the lady and she let's us in without scanning them.
People are already getting drinks and food and others are heading towards their seats. I look at where we are sitting and see that we are right next to third base, and have front row seats. I smile and go with Ryker to get food.
Game will be the next chap, I promise. I will not be posting from the 22nd through April 1st. I will be in Arizona watching my boys kick some Indian butt. Also tell me what you think. Love y'all.
