CHAPTER ONE:

Today is the last day of school! Finally! I'm so excited!!

"LAURYNNN!!!" Screams my best friend kenzie.

Kenzie and I have been best friends since 4th grade (now we're seniors in high school) and we fight a lot but that's what best friends do!

"Hey kenzie! Wanna hang out today? My mom is out of the house today and my dad... is- you know."

My dad got in some trouble with the police a few months back and recently got arrested for 27 years.

"Sure! maybe we could go to the mall too!"

"Yeah!! that's would be soooo fun!!" I say to kenzie.

Just then I feel someone slap my butt. Almost automatically I realize it was Jace. Ew.

"Jace leave me alone. I don't nor will I EVER like you."

"Whoa clam down. I just wanted to get a feel for you." He says slyly.

"Ok jace, back off. Or I will..." Says kenzie.

"Ok! sorry Lauryn. see you guys next year."

Yeah.. that's what I thought.

I shut my locker and we head or the bus.
