I was waiting at a set table for two for my date, Mark. Thirty minutes passed and he still wasn't here. "Am I getting stood up?" I thought. A frown spread across my face as I stood up to leave. Just then, I got a call from an unknown number. It was Mark. "Hey Mark." I said coldly. "Hey Jack listen I'm really sorry I couldn't make it. I got in a car crash on my way to the restaurant. Im fine but my leg is broken, thankfully I was the only one hurt." He explained. My eyes widened at what I heard. "Holy shit okay. I'll come to you." I said in a sweeter tone. "No no. Jack you don't have to do that." He tried. He failed. "Nope. Im coming. I hope you like Chinese takeout." I chuckled. "Haha. Yes I do thank you." He said. I picked up some Chinese takeout on my way to hospital. I found marks room and we shared many laughs and good food till late at night. At the end of the night, Mark was released from the hospital and I drove him home. His hand was intertwined with mine the entire ride there. I helped him up to his front door when he stopped. "What's wrong?" I asked, my stomach filling with butterflies. "Thank you so much."He said, sincerely. I smiled sweetly in response. He looked at me adoringly for a moment before leaning in and closing the gap between our lips. The kiss was slow and passionate. Everything about the outside world disappeared and all that mattered was him, me, and this moment. Our lips danced together in perfect harmony for what seemed like hours before he reluctantly pulled away. "I didn't want that to end, but I have to use the bathroom." He chuckled. I blushed and laughed a bit at his comment. "I'll text you later ok?" He asked. "Okay!" I said with a large smile on my face. We bid each other goodnight before I walked away to my car and drove home in the best mood I've had in months.
