Ava woke up on her own that morning. She checked her phone first thing. She had two texts.
Ryan: Good Morning! Have a great day at school.
Daisy: After school? Hangout?
She replied to Daisys' text first.
Ava: Sure where at?
Daisy: I was thinking.. maybe the mall?
Ava: The mall? The place where I work?
Daisy: Yeah? And?
Ava: Oh! I know why! Is it to fuel your candy addiction?
Daisy: Ya caught me!
Ava: Anywho, since I'm going to be watching you fuel your addiction. You can do me a favor.
Daisy: Yeah???
Ava: Not overdose on sugar like the last time.
Daisy: We said you would never bring that memory up you liar!
Ava: Too bad. I still can't believe you passed out while flirting with an 8th grader!
Daisy: He looked older I swear!
Ava: Okay "sure he did". I totally believe that.
Daisy: Oh shut up!
Right when Avery was about to reply back to Daisys' text she got another text from Ryan.
Ryan: I was wondering if you were working or busy on Friday. I kind of want to talk to you. I need to tell you something.
And then when Ava tried to respond to his text she got another text, this time it was from her co-worker Sarah.
Sarah: Can you come over to my house on Friday after work?
Ava: Um, sure.
Sarah: Thanks! I just need you to come by for a little bit to help me get the prices for things in the store right.
Ava: No problem, since it's only Wednesday we have a whole nother day til Friday , count me coming.
Sarah: Thanks, ttyl.
Now that Ava had plans she decided to actually reply to Ryan now.
Ava: Sorry, I'm busy I'm going to my co-workers house. After work.
Ryan: Oh. I'm guessing you're busy now too so I'm going to go ttyl.
Ava: Why are you acting so weird.
Ryan: You'll know soon enough, or not.
Ava: What do you mean Ryan?!
Ryan: Gtg bye!
Ava: RYAN!
After he didn't reply for a couple of minutes she decided to quit on making him tell her. She, Ava, got dressed for school. After she finished getting prepared, she walked to school.
Ava had her phone in her pocket she tried not to touch it , in fear than she might break it from anticipation. When Ava got to school she turned off her phone to save battery and to keep her from checking it.
Ava went through most of the day casually. It had been lunchtime when something interesting happened. Sarah had walked up Avery while she was eating. She sat down next to her and told her something before she ran away.
"I can't go to work today I'm so sorry! Twin business." Sarah said.
"Wait!-" Avery said but Sarah was already sprinting out of the lunchroom. Avery thought to herself, Twin business? Really is that the best excuse?
Ava passed it off as nothing. She could do the shift on her own. She always had until Sarah was recruited. But it may not be too easy alone as it was together.
"What's that all about?" Daisy said, she gave Ava a side glance before popping a chip into her mouth.
"That's the new worker. Sarah." Avery said.
"She seems like a push-over." Daisy said as she kept popping chips into her mouth, one-by-one.
"Don't talk about her like that. She's nice and cool once you get to know her." Avery said with a certainty in her voice.
"Doesn't seem like it." Daisy said. Avery ended the conversation there without replying.
The rest of the school day after lunch was just pure boredom. After school her brother met them, Avery and Daisy, in front of the school while in his car.
"Hey Aves can you hurry up!? You too, candy eater." Sam said jokingly as they walked towards the car.
"Wow. Thanks for being nice." Daisy said as he flicked the back of his ear from the back seat. She kicked his chair.
"You're a devil in disguise. You know that right?" Samuel said, even though he was bothered by her he laughed.
"Shh, you're gonna blow her cover!" Avery said as she giggled. Daisy punched Ava jokingly in the arm as the car pulled off and into the street. "To the mall we go!!" Ava said, she smiled and joked with Daisy most of the ride. Finally they pulled into the mall parking lot near the Bath & Body Works exit.
"We're here!" Daisy said as she quickly thanked Sam for driving them. Daisy and Avery hopped out of the car. They headed towards the B&BW exit and entered the mall. Immediately Daisy went to the direction of the food court.
"We should walk around before we head to eat." Avery said.
"BUT AVERY! I'm hungry!" Daisy exclaimed as she pouted.
"You're always hungry." Ava said as she started to walk in the opposite direction of the food court. Daisy followed her and started to complain but Avas' focus was on something else. Avery was looking at a guy. He resembled Ryan in every way.
"D-Daisy. Let's go over there." Ava said as she pointed in the direction of the Ryan guy. She looked to where she was pointing and noticed he had disappeared. "Never mind." She thought to herself, 'Who was that? It can't be Ryan. He doesn't live here.' Avery headed towards the food court. Daisys' face lightened at the sight of food.
"Yay!" Daisy practically yelled as she headed towards a free samples sales lady.
The rest of the day was mostly Avery rethinking the event of the Ryan look-a-like. It couldn't be him, no chance. Avery and Daisy got driven home by Sam and the drive was uneventful.
"See ya later Ava." Daisy said as she exited the car, snapping Avery out of her faze.
"Oh, yeah see ya." Ava said as she slumped in the back seat. Samuel drove home with Avery and they got there very soon.
"I'm going to bed." Avery said as she slumped up the stairs and to her room.
"Okay. I'll be down here." Sam said as he locked the door and plopped onto the couch and started to watch TV.
Once Ava got into her bed she started to lightly fall asleep. She thought the day over again and that was what started her slumber.
