It was after Avas' workshift. Sarah didn't have work today so Avery had been alone. Avery took off her apron and looked for Ryan. She walked towards the normal mall, away from the foodcourts.
"I'm right here baby." A voice said and Avery turned around to see Ryan leaning against a wall behind her.
"Crap Ryan you scared me!" Avery said but started to laugh. This was their first date and Avery wanted it to go well.
"Too bad, you should've already sensed me." Ryan said and put an arm around Averys' shoulder.
"Oh right, I totally should have sensed your big ego." Avery joked as she leaned onto his shoulder as they walked.
The walked into various shop talking about how he moved to the area most of the time.
"Why don't we go to the food court to eat later?" Ryan asked as he looked ahead while walking.
"Sounds fine to me." Ava said, she could tell he was tense about the first date. They walked around some more and bought a couple of things. Ryan bought a necklace for Avery, it wasn't too expensive for Ryan. It was around a hundred and fifty dollars, since his family was pretty rich. The necklace had a small dog as the charm, Avery said she really liked it because it looked like her dog, Zeus. So Ryan got it for her, even though Ava kept saying he didn't have to, he would not listen to her, he wanted to make her happy.

Ryan and Avery headed towards the food court while holding hands. The food court wasn't as busy as usual, so they easily made their way to a table and set down their things at the table.
"What do you want to eat?" Ryan asked Ava.
"Anything you want." Avery replied, she was busy looking through her phone at her pictures of her dog.
"Get off that phone for a minute." Ryan said as he snatched her phone and turned it off, stuffing it in his pocket. Ava huffed.
"Give it back!" Avery whined, she put her head into her hands. A guy headed towards their table, he was good looking, no, not just good looking, he was gorgeous!
"Give the pretty lady her phone back. Are you like her annoying little brother or something?" The guy commanded, he blew his bangs out of his face and looked at Ryan.
"I'm her boyfriend. Now if you wouldn't mind we are having a date here and I don't want it to be ru-" Ryan said but was interrupted by the guy.
"Why don't you come with me, you're too pretty for this slob." The guy said. "My name's Tobias, you can call me your boyfriend though." He, Tobias, said to Avery giving her a quick wink.
"I-I'm good." Avery said, but it was too late Ryan had already gotten out of his seat and had given Tobias a firm push. Tobias stumbled backwards. "Crap." Ava said under her breath, she stood up and got in between the two of them. "Stop!" She screamed at the both of them, she pointed at Tobias. "I don't know you, and I don't want you. Go away!" She yelled at Tobias. He had a hurt look on his face, a girl headed towards Tobias. She wasn't that pretty.
"Whats going on here?" The girl asked.
"Nothing babe, let's go." Tobias covered just as Avery was about to speak. So that's his girlfriend? Avery thought to herself. Tobias and the girl started to leave, Ryan took a seat and brushed off his pants. Avery walked towards the pair and pulled the girl aside.
"He was just flirting with me. I don't think he's a good boyfriend you deserve better." Ava said to the girl, the girls' eyes welled up with tears.
"She speaks bull." Tobias said. "Come on Serena." Tobias pulled the girl towards him but Avery was protective to the girl, Serena, and kept her by her side.
"I-Is it true. I know girls get jealous but...you looked like a nice person." Serena started to cry and leaped towards Tobias, he held her in his arms. He mouthed a swear word to Ava.
"What?!" Avery said, but Tobias and Serena had already walked away. Avery walked back to Ryan and sat down. "Let's go."

They left the mall together after Ryan gave her phone back to her, and Ryan drove them to a hot dog joint that was five minutes away. Ryan parked the car and got out. He went to open Ava's door but she was already out of the car. They headed into the shop and ate.
"Look, Avery, I'm really sorry about what happened." Ryan apologized.
"Whatever." Avery huffed, she understood that Ryan was trying to protect her but he could've handled it in a more civilised way.
"It's just that. I didn't want some jerk to ruin our first official date. I know I screwed up." Ryan said he put his head down in frustration.
"It's alright. It's just that his girlfriend took him back even after I told her. And that's what is making me mad." Ava said, she sighed and leaned her head on Ryan's shoulder."I'm tired."
"Same here." Ryan said, he sighed and closed his eyes. "You want me to drop you off right after this?"
"Yeah. I need some sleep." Avery said. She started to eat and so did Ryan.

After they finished eating they got into Ryans' car again and went on their way to Avas' house so he could drop her off. Once they arrived Avery got straight out of the car and headed towards her front door. No goodbye hugs or kisses or anything, she got to her door and opened it. Avery quickly waved goodbye to Ryan and went inside.
