Ch: 2 Judas
It's kind of a long walk to my school so it was dumb of me to waste time having a pillow and knocking over boxes filled photos, then having to waste more time picking up the photos. So children who may be reading this do not waste time when getting ready to head to school because you will end up like me. Who is running for her life a thousand miles an hour in the street. Running into and knocking over some pretty angry people. Not to mention just, just missing impact with a near by vehicle. "Annie you dumb fool be careful!! You were almost hit!!!" Isa yelled. Isa Ruisdael and I have been best friends since grade nine. We meet when her grandmother was put into the safe house. I found her crying and I tried to comfort her then we just started talking. Which was hard because back then she hardly spoke English and spoke mostly Russian. When in doubt use Google translate it works. Since then I always hung out with her when she came to visit her grandmother. We bonded after that. I tried to teach her English and she told me all about her home in Russia. "Annie are you ok?" "I'm fine Pam" said running low on air. "Are you sure? You look like your going to pass out from running" Pam Rosen I met as we slammed into each other with are bikes. That accident broke my arm and broke her leg. Doctor said we were both lucky that it wasn't worst. We started making jokes about that accident and instantly became friends. I remember once I was looking at her email and I read the word spam. "spam hey that rhymes with your name pam" I told her. "That's what I'm gonna start calling you" and to her dismay it quickly caught on. Soon everyone was calling her spam! "Yeah yeah I'll be careful keep running!" I yelled. I ran like lighting to the front steps of the school and dashed in though big doors of the school. Walking though a crowd of people I yelled a quick good bye to Isa and Pam as we separated. I bump into some poor guy walking/running in the building trying to make my through. "I made it" I yelled in pure joy and that got me few stares from people. "Yeah now you have to run upstairs to your locker, throw all your stuff in and get to class before the bell rings" I heard a male voice I didn't recognize at first. "your still going to be late again....frizz head" Now I recognize that voice! how could I not recognize it! I turned to face this rude jerk "no one but my friends can call me frizz head and live to tell about it Judas" he smirked at me "Or what you'll hurt me? As if" he said. I swear this boy had more attitude and Sassiness then all of the of the teenaged girls in this school combined. That is all teenaged girls except me "oh that's right you have your many fan girls to protect you." I said "Now what do you want Judas?" "An apology" "why what did I do?" "You bumped into me remember?" "Oh is his highness's ego hurt?" Judas's eyes narrowed and his smirk turned into a nasty scowl. His fury however was my delight. "Awe baby wanna throw a tantrum and go home to his mommy" I said with plenty of fits and giggles. I just can't help myself this jerk had it coming. Judas was growling because I am the only girl in school maybe planet that he could not win against. Judas Della Rosa was the envy of every guy in school and the not so secret crush of every girl in school minus me of me of course. Everyone goes on and on about how amazing the talented Judas Della Rosa is. It's all because his daddy a rich and famous musical prodigy. Heck everyone says the whole family is made up of prodigies. The only reason I talk to Judas is because his father is my father's client and yes my dad is in charge of the Della Rosa family Fortune. So we played together as kids and yes Judas is the boy with the weird eyes in the photo. He still looks the same now as he did in the photo. Same red eyes and pitch black hair. He opened his mouth to yell at me but was cut off by the sound of loud screech that curdled blood and blasted every ear drum in area. We both snapped are heads to find the source of the sound. It came from a boy being dragged away by two safeguards. Safeguards are the people who guard the safe house. If they find your unfit to be in society they have the right to take you away to safe house. Your probably thinking safe house is a hospital. why does a hospital need guards? Safe house is not just a hospital it also a place were you get rehabilitated. The safe house rehabilitates those who are dangerous to be around people. That's why my mother works there. she helps people get back to society. some of the people she works with are very very sick and twisted. The safeguards dragged the boy away by the cuff of his shirt but all I could think of is I know that boy. His name is Josh Hampton and i had first period class with him. There were rumours going around that josh liked to jump people and take their money. Josh was fighting and screaming with all his might to break free of the safeguards grip but the safeguard's grip was like iron no way to break it. "Is that josh?" Judas asked, in a quiet voice like he was afraid the safeguards would hear him. I just nodded not wanting to speak. "We should get to class." He said. I nodded again and waited till josh was out of sight, then slowly walked to class. As I walked Into class, everyone was dead silent. Mute. Not a word a word was spoken. Even the teacher was who was supposed to give a lecture, was completely silent. I feel my heart thumping in fear. What's going on? During last period everyone started to talk again after a vow of silence for Josh. "Did you hear what happen to Josh?" "No what happen?" "The safeguards took him away" "what really!" The girls in my class wasted no time with the endless gossip. I swear their mouths didn't stop moving for 10 minuets. I continued to write my test with the up most speed and I only stopped to check my answer. After this I would be excused from class and I could just go home. I wanted nothing more than to get out of here. I wanted to tell my mother what happen to poor josh and cry about it. Maybe I could ask her why they took josh away, but maybe not. Wait is she even allowed to say why they took josh away? I maneuvered my through the maze of chairs and desks. I walked up to the teacher and extended my arm in front of him. He looked up briefly and took the paper from me. I head out the door and ran to my locker. I grabbed my bag and kept running out to the front entrance. I was supposed to meet Isa and Pam before I left, but I didn't. I wanted to be home right now. I slowly opened the front door to my house. "Welcome back Annie" my dad said as I came in. "Hey dad". My voice was empty and sad. "What's wrong Margaret?" My other nickname is Margaret but it makes no sense cause it's sounds nothing like Annika. It's a long story I will explain later how I got that nickname. "Josh was taken by the safeguards" I said. "I'm sorry to hear that". He motioned for me to sit down. I sat beside him with my head on his shoulder. My mom walked in slowly thorough the kitchen door way. "Annie your home. How was school today?" She said. I didn't answer. My mom sent a confused look at me and then looked at dad. "Safeguards took that Hampton boy away". Dad said answering for me. My mom hung her head low to hide her face but it was to late I saw the look of guilt on her face. That look did not suite my kind hearted mother at all. "You knew?" I said in disbelief. "Yes. I knew". I was shocked! "what! you knew they were going to take him away and you didn't do anything to save josh! Why? you could have stopped the safeguards from taking him away" she didn't answer at first. "Annie I wanted too" she paused. "but I'm just a doctor. There was nothing I could have done I'm sorry." I wanted to be mad at her but she was right. she is just a doctor. In the city of Ivania being different is the same thing as being mentally ill. If your "different" you get taken away.
