Chapter 14
'So, is this the palce?' I nodded "Yeh, this was my house"
As I walked up the front porch, I noticed how it looks just like it did that day. The only difference was that there was plants growing everywhere. I pushed open the front door and swiftly strolled inside. I glanced around at the all to familiar room, memoried flashed before my eyes. I felt a few tears as my vision blurred, however I pushed those feelings back.
I walked through the hall and came up to a large staircase which spiraled upwards. There's cracks in every single piece of the wooden floorboard and the roof was leaking. I tiptoed my way into the living room and glanced at the painting which hung above the mantelpiece.
It was a large portrait of my father, mother and sister, maki. 'Why aren't you up there Milady?' I sighed sadly "My father.. wouldn't allow it. He never saw me as his daughter, only Maki. My mother, however.. she loved Maki and I both the same. Even though she pleaded my father to let me in that photo.. " I trailed off as the memories resurfaced. 'Oh, Milady'
Shrugging everything painfull away, I walked back towards the staircase and searched for the correct door. The door I was looking for was actually a hatch right next to the first step. Opening the hatch I glanced down into the darkness. Clicking my fingers, I made a small fire in between my thumb and index. I took in a deep breath "Alright! onward we go!" In the background Shiro chuckled lightly.
After making sure the hatch was tightly shut, I found myself walking along a dark pathway. The walls surrounding the pathway were covered in mold and vines; It didn't smell to good either. I couldn't really tell how long I was walking for, but after god knows how long I saw a red-orangy light up ahead. Deciding to quicken my pace, I ran onwards.
I stood to a halt as soon as I saw the room just ahead of me. It was a circular room with 4 pillars around the outside. There were weird markings across the ceiling, which looked rather similar to dragons. I walked slowly forwards. There were lit fires on the walls, so It was easier to see.
As soon as I got to the centre of the weird room, I noticed a large chest-like box. Being the curious person I am, I casually strolled over to it. 'Open it' Shiro insisted. I chuckled slightly and knelt down. "I'm kinda.. scared Shiro" 'It's ok Milady. I'm here for you' Nodding I went to open it. However, I came upon some sort of seal. Tilting my head to the right in confusion, I placed my hand over the seal.
All of a sudden, the seal expanded and weird symbold crawled out from it, spreading across the ground. "What the-" I exclaimed, wide-eyed. Taking in a few deep breaths, I closed my eyes, calming myself down. A moment passed before I opened them again. Feeling calm I glanced at the contents seeled within the chest. From what I could see, there were: scrolls, pictures, documents, jewelry and weapons.
I picked up one of the weapons that caught my eyes. It was a dagger. Said dagger had a blood red blade and a black handle. The same weird symbold from that seal where incrypted onto the handle and two golden dragons with icy blue eyes were wrapped around the blade. Almost as if they were made to keep anyone from using them. I decided to leave the dagger until after I checked out everything else.
Carefully, I pulled out a stack of documents which had 'Classified Imformation' in bold, red writing on the top. Ignoring the warning, I flipped over the first page and the first thing that caught my eye was a picture of a young girl. She had short black hair and deep blue eyes. She looked to be only around 5. There were the same bold, red writing. However this time it said 'Deceased'
Raising an eyebrow I turned the page, there was another child. Although this time, the child was a young boy. He had dark brown hair and hazelnut eyes. Those same words were plastered over the page 'Deceased' My heart beat rose. I began flipping through the bundle of pages "Deceased, deceased, deceased, deceased, deceased... They're all deceased" I was about to put the documents away when the last page caught my eye. This one did not say 'deceased' as all the others had. Glancing at the picture.. the young child seemed familiar.
