I didn't dare move under the hard grip of his rough hand on my arm. His fingernails slowly started to dig into my skin, the pain growing deeper every second.
I curled my lips in, just as I always do when I'm nervous. I felt a tear well up in my eye from such pain on my arm. Why was I so weak?
I clenched my fists and bolted back swiftly. The gruesome man was alarmed. That was when I saw his face. Light hair, and silvery eyes. He looked a little over my age. I recognized him from somewhere, but I couldn't picture where.
His shocked face soon melted into anger. He chortled under his breath. It was the ugliest snicker I had ever heard.
"Babe," he said with a raspy tone. "You're weak, and I know," he paused. "I know that that isn't the first time you heard it."
"Don't you dare call me babe again, and don't you ever call me weak. I may not look it, but in seconds I could pound your jaw 'till it falls off."
That was all a lie.
I just wanted to scare him off or something.
That didn't work.
The boy jammed his elbow into my chest... hard. It knocked the wind out of me and I stumbled backwards, tripping over my heels and landing on the floor. I clutched the neckline of my shirt and slowly got up, never dropping the stare I had that was burning into his skull.
He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind. My breath hitched when I felt his finger slowly slide up and down my torso and then to my thighs.
I looked back to wear Carter was standing. He was making out Evelyn. Exactly what I wanted to see.
I looked at the man's head on my shoulder, kissing my collarbone.
I looked back at Carter and realized the resemblance.
This horrible man was Carter's brother.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I gasped and Carter's brother turned around to look my in the eye.
"Stop staring and let's take this somewhere a little more private, Hon."
I scrunched my nose up, whipped around, and pushed him away from my frozen body.
"Get away from me, you nasty, drunk, retched..."
Before I could finish my sentence, the man wrapped his hand around my mouth and opened a door. My face was getting hot as he tied a white bandage around my mouth as I screamed over and over hoping someone would hear.
Carter's brother led me into the pitch black room that I soon realized was a small closet...
Just big enough for two people.
He grabbed one of the bobby pins out of my hair and locked the door from the inside, then slipped the pin under the door crack so I couldn't get it back. He held my hands in a tight grip behind my back, so I couldn't try to unlock it in the same way.
I wailed and slid my back down the ice cold wall, tears streaming down my face.
All I wanted now was someone to hold me in their arms. Not someone like this nasty man, no, someone I could trust.
But I can't trust anyone anymore.
Which makes me realize this doesn't even matter. Because after all, what's the point?
