Sans growled as he paced through the woods of Snowdin.
Two days ago, he had been at the Lab, focusing on determination. Then the king had suddenly called, telling him that he had heard some rumors.
About his missing family.
Queen Toriel, his wife, and Princess Frisk, his adopted daughter and heir to the throne. Somewhere in Snowdin.
So, Sans was now forced to live in a cabin house until he had found the two. If the rumors were true.
He groaned, his golden tooth gleaming.
Snowdin wasn't that bad- Grillby's was awesome- it was the mission. Neither of the two had been seen in ten years.
What chance did Sans have?
The crunch of snow alerted him to freeze and look around.
There was a hooded figure, walking through the woods. A basket rested on their arm as they walked quickly.
Nobody from Snowdin came out this far. Sans watched the figure and then started to follow quietly. He had been quite the hunter during his time in the Royal Guard.
-_-
Sans blinked when the figure approached the door to the Ruins, slipping inside.
He teleported behind, following the figure into a courtyard. A tower stood in the center. Quickly ducking behind some ivy, Sans watched the figure lower her hood.
It was Queen Toriel.
He gulped a gasp.
"Maiden, dear maiden, lower the vines!" Toriel called.
Like magic, vines crawled down the stone of the tower. Toriel climbed up into the only window and vanished.
Sans sighed.
One part of his mission was done, but a new mystery had arisen.
