Dan's P.O.V:
"What does it say?" I cradled Lily delicately in my arms. Carefully, I pulled her onto my lap.
"Positive." She whispered. Her head fell onto my shoulder. The realization hit me like a punch to the stomach. Me? A parent?!
"...Wow." I ran my fingers through her silky, ebony hair. "What are we going to tell Phil?" I stopped rocking her and let my arms fall loose around her, breaking the barricade of support I held around her. She sat up so I could stare into her gorgeous, emerald eyes.
"Nothing. We need to find our own place before I start showing. Simples!" She breathed in and looked more seriously at me. I chuckled.
" So, What do you want for lunch?" Her hand went to her mouth. I rubbed her back and tilted her towards the toilet.
"I'm really not hungry. Cravings are a bitch!" I smiled and let her stand up again. She moved as if she much more aware now, making sure her every move wasn't going to hurt the baby. We walked into the living room and sat on the floor.
"Do you mind if I run down to the shops and get some food?" I stood up, stretched and pushed the door open. She ran into the bathroom and dropped the test in the bin and covered it to make sure Phil wouldn't find it.
"Dan, I'm pregnant, not dying. Go. I'll be fine by myself for a bit." We stood by the front door.
"Ok. Don't do anything stupid. I love you. I'll be back in 20 minutes, love." I leaned down and kissed her forehead. I rubbed my minuscule belly and smirked. Grabbing my wallet, I opened the door.
"I love you too." She stood in the doorway with her arms folded over her chest. I winked ironically at he. The door clicked shut. Why so many stairs?! Festive lights and bustling crowds greeted me as I stepped out onto the streets of London. November 26th. 29 days before Christmas. Shake-Away was open so I grabbed a drink from there for me and Lily. From there, I found the nearest sandwich shop and ordered a Bacon, Chicken and Lettuce sandwich. All in all, it took less than 20 minutes to get down there and back. By the sound of water running and the terrible singing coming from the Bathroom, I could tell that Phil was home. Oh god! What if Lily had got nervous and blurted out about the baby. No. Phil would be more pre-occupied with telling her about his new 'date', Sara. His new obsession. The door was open. Lily was laying on the sofa.
"Hi! I got you something. " I set the bags on the kitchen counter and handed her overly sweet milkshake to her. A smile spread across her face.
"Awww.....Thanks! Mmmmmm, my favourite!" She took a long sip of the drink and kissed me on the cheek. I sat on the sofa with Lily whilst I ate. Phil came in not much later, telling me all about his date and how amazing she is. Hmph.. AmazingDate. *Bringggg* The phone screamed for attention from the base across the room. Lily walked over and answered it.
"Hello?.. Yes they are. I'll get them for you." Lily mouthed the letter B.B.C at me. B.B.C?? B.B.C!! I sprinted for the phone just as soon as Phil did. Phil reached the phone first and put it on speaker phone.
"Hello? Is this Dan Howell and Phil Lester?" A familiar voice, that I couldn't quite place, boomed down the phone.
"Yes it is." Phil sad curious for a explanation.
"Right. So boys, B.B.C Radio 1 want you guys to do a Christmas show for us. Are you interested?" Lily leaned against the wall next to Phil.
"Wow, yes of course!" I intervened as Phil was frozen.
"OK, so if you guys film it then we'll broadcast it. It has to be 1 hour long. Remember: If you get this right, you could get a permanent place with us."
"Yeah sure, We'll contact you." I hung up the phone. Lily squealed in delight.
"You guys look like you need a cuppa." She giggled and boiled the kettle.
"Us! Radio presenters! We're going to be the best radio presenters ever!" Phil and I hugged (In a manly way, of course!) and may or may not have danced around the room like giddy fairies.
"OK, twinkle-toes!" Lily handed Phil his cup of coffee and bear-hugged him. She sat in the arm chair and ran through ideas with me and Phil"
"You guys need to make a video!" Lily's face lit up. I looked at Phil.
"Yeah, good idea." Phil disappeared into his room and returned with the filming stuff. I got the camera from Lily and my room. I walked back into the living room and mounted the camera on the tripod.
"Hi guys, We have a very special announcement." Lily continued.
" No, we haven't picked a wedding date yet." Phil took back the speaking role.
" But Dan and I have been asked to do the 'CHRISTMAS RADIO 1 SHOW'! Yay!"
"Yay!" I managed to get a word in.
"Yay!" Lily smiled at the camera.
"So, on Christmas day, we will climb out of the screen and into your ears!... That sounded alot better in my head." Phil and Lily looked at each other and burst out in laughter.
"Hey, that can be our new 'radio catch-phrasy' thing!" Phil added. We talked about random stuff from then on like how our week had been.
"See you next time." I stared into the camera lens
"Ciao." Lily waved. We shut off the camera. The video ended up being exactly 12:38 minutes long even after Phil edited it! I stood on the balcony and stared at the sun setting in the distance. It reminded me of summer. Lily and I spent the next 2 weeks searching for a flat. One night, Lily stood in front of the mirror and lifted her jumper to reveal a small bump between her hips. We needed that flat... And fast!
