The sunlight streamed in through the window and I winced at how bright it was.

I tried to turn away but...Frank? I was spooning him. What?

Okay, I composed myself and stayed calm, recalling the events of last night.

Ah yes, it hit me. He came in, late, well...early? I don't know, but it wasn't exactly supper time, and he climbed into bed with me. To sleep, of course.

Well shit. If my mum saw this right now, I'd be in six shades of shit. Okay Gerard, stay calm. What time is it?

I turned my head back and caught a glimpse of my clock. My clock that read 6:38. Okay...that gave me enough time to- shit.

Was that my mum?

I could hear shuffling outside, it's her. Shit!

I decided that I should probably wake Frank up.

"Frank? Frankie? Frank, wake up." I whispered.

He began to stir, "Brush your fucking teeth...what? Where- oh, right. Morning, Gee." He grumbled.

I decided to ignore his remark about my breath and continued, "Frank, you need to wake up. My mum's up and if she sees us in here-"

"She's gonna think we fucked?" He interjected.

"To put it bluntly, yes." I snapped.

"Alright, alright. Keep your panties on. I'm awake." He sat up, rubbing his eyes.

I emerged from my bed and decided to check if the coast was clear, so that Frank could go back to his bedroom discreetly.

I opened my door and saw that my mother wasn't there. She must have been downstairs.

"Now. Quick." I ushered him out of the door and he obliged, huffing as he did so.

He set one foot out of the door and stopped in his tracks at the sound of my mother's voice. "Frank?"

She stood at the top of the stairs, opposite my bedroom and stared at us. Me, hurriedly ushering Frank out of my bedroom, uttering, "Quick, before my mum sees." And Frank leaving my room at 6am, looking dishevelled.

"Shit." I muttered. "Mum it's...fuck, it's not what it looks like."

"I really hope not, Gerard." She smiled. It was forced, her eyes were piercing mine.

"Go on, Frank." I whispered behind him.

"Mrs. Way, I was just-"

"Frankie, love. It's okay. Go on, it's okay." I assured him.

He turned to face me and mouthed, "Are you sure?"

"Frankie, I promise." I whispered back.

Frank opened his door and walked inside, quietly closing it behind him.

"Gee..." my mum huffed, quietly. "If this is what I think it is..."

"It's not. Mum, I promise. He was just...he was scared, okay?"

She seemed to ponder over it for a moment. "Okay...okay, fine. Okay. I trust that you're not lying to me. But Gee, if it ever is what it looked like today, I swear to god..."

"Mum." I interrupted, "It never will be."

She left after that and I got into the shower.

It was a Monday but we had the week (and last week) off of school for Easter. When I went down for breakfast, Frank was drinking coffee and eating his cereal.

"I can cook you something if you want." I said.

He looked up, "Oh.", he cleared his throat. "N- no thank you. I love cereal."

"Ah, okay. Uhm, mum has to run into the office later, wanna do something?"

He seemed to consider it for a moment. "Yeah, sure. What do you have in mind?"

"We could catch a movie, go shopping?"

He snorted. "Shopping? Bit gay isn't it?"

"Okay, so no to shopping." I murmured. "Movie then?"

"Sure. Hey the Power Rangers came out, I heard it's great. Wanna go watch that?", he asked.

"Sure, let me grab some money.", I answered.

He started, "Oh I don't-"

"Yeah, I've got you covered."
