It was prom day for Kendra's middle school and she was excited but a part of her wishes Josh and Grandpa were here to see her and be a part of this huge milestone. She came out feeling like Cinderella.
The prom was fun and Chris took her out of her chair as they danced. During dinner they had a sibling apprication video contest everyone video were awesome. Then Kendra was last Kenneth Kevin and Kendall spoke.
"Kendra first off are you having fun at the prom?" Kevin said. Kendra nodded. Kenneth said.
"We want to nominate Kendra Marie Matthew Schmidt for sibling appreciation because she always there for us. She is funny, always in a good mood even when she sick, motivate us when she does walk with her therapist and help Kendall with writing a song."
Kevin said.
"When we found out Mom was having a girl all of us were excited especially then 4 year old Kendall he honestly couldnt wait to be a big bro. He was already planning her nursery he kept saying PINK PINK and MORE PINK with Minnie or Pooh Bear. Kenneth and I bet that he would end up being a designer for the nursery but we lost when he did Heffron Drive and BTR!"
Kendall said.
"Shut up. When was Kendra was born it was the best day ever honestly our family was complete minus the fact I didnt hold her right away but in the incubator she was gorgous and everyday as she grew I even spend my birthday visiting in the hospital and the nurses got me a cake and I blew my candle made a wish in front of her I think that was an hour before school."
He took out a photo of that day.
"I read to her bathe her changed her diaper and rock her to sleep everyday prior to the worst day of my life."
he teared up as Kendra fought her tears back knowing it was going to get emotional for him.
"The day she was adopted and taken away I was hurt. I came home thinking she was kidnapped and I bust the door open going, Mama Kendra she gone. Mom sighed and I said to myself. no you didn't not wanting to think she gave her up for adoption. Kevin took me aside and said. Mommy gave her up for adoption. Before he went any further to explain why I ran in my bedroom and sobbed for three hours straight until I couldn't cry and I actually took a nap because Kenneth woke me up."
he said.
"As the time goes on I understood why Mom placed her up for adoption. She couldn't handle the medical aspect, drs, surgeries and placing her in special schools. I actually made a vow that I was going to find her, I was stuck with work doing the show but I never forgotten her or her birthday. Every birthday I got her a cake and we'll celebrate my co stars staff we celebrate for her."
Kendra smiled and try not to cry she was eating her dinner.
Kevin said.
"SISSY WE LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH AND THANK TO CHRIS FOR BRINGING HER BACK TO US."
The video fade. Kendra eventually found out that Chris written the letter when she moved back to the Schmidt.
Then the Principal and Josh and her doctors went up onstage. The principal said.
"Kendra we are not done yet you thought your nomination is done nope someone else wanted to nominate you a special angel you have raised on your own till he earned his wings."
The video came on.
"HI SISSY!"
Kendra teared up and broke down as Chris and Lauren rubbed her back she thought she would never hear Josh's voice again.
"I want to nominate my big sister Kendra Matthews. Reason why cause she awesome and funny. She a Spidergirl flying down the halls with her wheelchair no spiderwebs of course. She works non stop with school and taking care of me Like a Mommy and im her son she definately deserve this nomination as a Mother's Day gift.
What I love about Kendra that from the time I was born, she has been dedicated in raising me and try to help me beat this cancer. If she doesn't win this award get her a Carvel cake cuz she deserved it. IF SHE WIN get her the cake."
He laughed. The entire room laughed and Kendra smiled blew him a kiss. Kevin Kenneth and Kendall teared up. They could see the love she has for him and pain that she struggles with his passing.
"The most important thing my favorite thing about her is that she sings to me every night when I go to bed or dealing with recieving chemo like I get tired really easy. She could go on American Idol! "
Josh paused.
"Kendra when I am long gone I hope you know im there for you everyday watching you. I love you MUAH!" he blew her a kiss.
the video fade and everyone applauded and there wasn't a dry eye throughout the room. The doctor speak.
"I remember Kendra being born and growing up when she brought Josh I instantly recognizes her from the emerald green eyes to the blonde hair like your brothers but I was sad that you have forgotten your past cause I was the one who made the box for you."
Kendra finally remember the night before she left the hospital when she told her.
"I know you'll be with your new family but I have a piece of your actual family to take with you. It will not be easy but I know Kendall will not be there for you to sing tomorrow. I honestly don't have the heart to tell him, but he loves you so much."
she was numb but she smiled.
"As she helped Josh I could see similaries between she and Kendall they both came to the hospital before and after school, they ran at the same pace except Kendra can wheel her butt off. They dedicated to their love ones Kendall was always taking the time to be there for her and Kendra would drop it all to help Josh even at his finals days till he passed."
The Principal said.
"I had the honor to interview Josh and he was the sweetest boy I have ever met. When I explained what the award is for he smiled but then he was sad. I asked what wrong he replied I wont live to see it! I just want to see her smile. I told him to pour his heart out in the video for this contest and he did!"
The Judges which was the classmates voted and the results for sibling appriciation video competition was incredible.

Kendra was speechless that Kevin, Kenneth and kendall took her out of her chair and carried her onstage. She recieved a huge trophy a medal and check then spoke.
"Thank you everyone. I have nothing to say but I love my big brothers to death and to my baby boy in Heaven this is all for you guys."
