"Well done, Phoenix!"
"That was some excellent stuff you did there! You were absolutely right, Kellie," Alli said.
"Yes, I'm certain that Phoenix is ready to wield the power of fire properly," Kellie replies.
A million questions were racing through my head. "What is this? Have you all gone psycho? Why
am I being put through this crazy 'test'? Are there more of us??"
Kellie was the first to answer. "This is a test to see if you can handle your powers, we are not
psycho, you have special powers called 'Abilities' which can be put to good use, and you'll see
eventually how many of us there are...eventually."
I still had a lot of questions, but I was curious as to what these "Abilities" were, so I kept my
mouth shut.
"Now for the official training, we find someone in the coven with the same element as you have,
and they shall be your mentor."
"Ohh! I know this person!!!" Alli shouted excitedly.
I tilted my head in curiosity, "Who?"
"A really super duper mega hot guy named HOLDEN!!!!!!" Alli shrieked.
"Holden? Yes, he would be good for this fiery young lady." Kellie nodded her head in agreement.
"Can I summon him now? Please??"
"Now?!" I was surprised that training would start this quickly.
"Yes, now Alli, please summon him," Mother was the only calm person in the area right now.
"Oh yes! Nix look at this!"
I turned to see Alli close her now golden eyes. A small spark appeared on one of her
outstretched hands, it grew larger and became a roaring flame. Alli threw the fire into the air. I
flinched, expecting it to fall, but it was suspended in the air.
Alli shouted, "Holden!" and the fire flew away into the evening sky.
When she was finished, she turned to me and smiled, "Pretty, right?"
I nodded, fascinated.
"It's called a summoning flame, no matter what element you are, all witches/wizards should be
able to conjure it. It will be the first thing on the 'to-do' list" Kellie chuckled.
"Every time a witch/wizard uses his or her powers, it takes a little out of them. So you also need
to know how to Recharge, for example, a summoning spell does not take that much energy, but,
say, an appearance changing one does. Also-" Kellie's lesson got cut off by a blinding flash.
"He's here!" Alli squealed.
I wheeled around to see smoldering flames, and out of it stepped a wizard who must be the
hottest guy in the world. His hair was a golden brown with frosted tips, his turquoise eyes
seemed to sparkle even in the setting sun. His tan chiseled face looked like a carving of a Greek
god statue. I wanted to explore all the angles of his jaw, eyebrows, and cheekbones. To think
that he was going to be my mentor. I couldn't wait.
