All the way home both Iris and Kinder where completely silent but Eliot and I were going on about whatever came to mind. When we got back to the cave we unmounted the beasts and Kinder just walked off but Iris walked to the side of the entrance and sat.
I walked up to her and asked, "Your no bigger than me I would have never imagined such a magnificent creature to be so small. You are at least two times smaller than Kinder."
She laughed, "I'm not really this small it is a spell that all of the mages set on us when we got separated. Kinder and Eliot didn't get separated so he wouldn't know." she took a deep breath, "286 years ago we were attacked by a group of people who had found a way to contradict our magic and the only way to survive was for all of us to separate and to do that the mages had to take half of the creatures magic which made us small and in exchange you lost your memories."
I interrupted, "Why do that just to sepreate?"
"Well our magic made us easerier to track so with half gone we were harder to find and if you had your memories you would be aware of the magic you took and because it is not yours it would be easy to track you. Taking your memories made it where your magic was completely sealed and it was impossible to track and that includes our magic as well."
"Also I was found 171 years ago so where did 286 come from?"
"The city didn't find you till much later."
"Ok then why was Eliot the exception?"
"Eliot and Kinder were with Eliot's sister because she was very sick and dyeing. She was the only relative that we actually knew that was still alive everyone else's families had already passed so we told him that we could handle this mission and let him go to his sister. Unfortunately he was the reason they never attacked because he can travel through shadows and they couldn't contradict that. That is also the reason he has been left alone all these years."
"I looked passed her at Eliot as he was working on a fire then looked back and asked, "So these people who attacked us are they still around?"
Iris sighed, "Well not the original people but about 20 years after that happened they created a hunting society ment for hunting mythical creatures and mages. Ordinary people could join but had to pass some sort of test. The organization is huge and has gone to hunting more than us. Try found that rare creatures live on other planets and have been attacking them as well. We are still the main target but they have failed to find us thanks to the magic sealing we did."
"So how do we get our merorise back?"
"Well that's the hard part." she paused, "We have to find all six mages and all six beasts only then can we undo the spell."
"Ok? But does Eliot know any of this?"
"Yes the five other beasts told Kinder and he told Eliot the basic parts. But it seems he didn't tell him how to undo it and a few other things, which is fine cause you can tell him."
"Ok thanks Iris." I said while walking in to the cave to explain to Eliot. It seemed he knew most of it already.
We woke up the next morning getting straight to work setting up a plan to find they four beasts and four mages missing. But first Eliot had to tell me names and other features useful for finding them:
Viki: Nature mage: Creature Golem named, Charlotte. Green hair and eyes.
Jake: Weather mage: Creature Peaguses named, Blaire. Gray eyes and brown hair.
Grace: Water mage: Creature Sea Serpent named, Drake. Blue hair and eyes.
Phillip: Fire mage: Creature Phenoix named, Ginger. Red hair black tips red eyes.
Eliot went on for quite awhile about them but that was the stuff we really needed to find them.
While he was explaining one thing I noticed was most of them had odd hair color so I asked, "What's the reason they all have strange hair color?"
Eliot stared at me, "When we got our magic all of our hair changed. Think about it, you have pure white hair and I have black. Out hair changed but that was the only thing that happened to all of us. We all got slight appearance changes."
"So not all of our eyes changed?"
"No Grace already had blue eyes so hers didn't change."
Once we got passed most of the confusion we started divissing a plan. Well a planish I guess.
Eliot was drawing in the sand explaining what we needed to do, "Well finding them can prove difficult. I am sure they noticed their odd features so they might be hiding somewhere, so finding the mages first is near impossible. Saying that we should find the beasts first. They can easily track there mages. We only used the beasts to travel before because Iris was in danger so we will have to go as if we are normal people. The company that hunts us knows our appearance so we have to be very careful, never show your face to anyone. Once we find everyone we can get everyone's memories back. So now going about that we will use Kinder and Iris to find the beast then they can track the mage. When we are searching we need to find them in teams. Not at the same time but if we find one mage we should find there partner first. Does this make sense?"
I nodded. We had a long rode ahead of us and we knew it wouldn't be easy but we had something to do and we planned to do it.
