The Twelve Vessels

Chapter 2

It didn't take us very long to arrive to the large cave that he was living in. When he was explaining about why we didn't age the animals and the magic I got really lost and it was really weird and confusing to me. He told me that six people with an IQ of 170 or higher were chosen to be part of an experiment and something went wrong during so the building blew up and we couldn't age past twenty even though they did succeed in giving us magic and creating six mythical creatures. It was really confusing but I just went along with it because he explained things pretty clearly I just didn't understand. When we got to the cave I found I couldn't enter behind Eliot. He looked back at me and said, "Sorry I cast a spell on the entrence so that unless you know the counter spell you can't enter. You know it but I doubt you remember how to use it. The counter spell is temporary so I can't just get rid of the spell it's also very hard to cast but I'll make sure you are able to come in by tonight."
I nodded and wasn't sure what any of that ment but he came out and gave me direction of how to use my magic in general but I couldn't even get a small spark to appear.
Sunset came and I hadn't progressed at all. Neither of us knew how to get me inside so Eliot just let me barrow a small tent and some blankets. But that night I stayed up most of the night and tried over and over again to just get a small spark to appear. I finally was able to create a soft ball sized ball with my magic but I still couldn't remember how to use the counter spell and without Eliot's help I probably wouldn't remember so I just went to sleep until he came and got me a few hours later. We worked on trying to get my memories back for the entire day and we tried using physical ways magic and anything we could think of but I couldn't remember.
Even though I couldn't remember anything I finally taught myself how to get in the cave. That night he slept by the entrence for some reason.
