Previously in The Secrets, The Lies: After finding out that Eddie's friend Nia is infact the biological daughter of Nick and Kehlani, all hell breaks lose. (Also pls comment questions for me bc I'm doing a Q&A on my YouTube channel and blog)

Demi

The dinner table was abnormally quiet that night. Eddie had refused to leave his room and decided that he didn't want dinner. Wilmer was still very hurt by what Eddie said to him. There had been no apologies at all, but Wilmer sure as hell deserved one. I felt so upset for him, he's done so much for Eddie and this is how he repays him.

"I'm thinking of starting to make YouTube videos or something" Alaya said, breaking the silence in the room as we ate.

I nodded, "What kind?"

She shrugged, "Make-up maybe, vlogs or something"

"You have enough make-up I guess"

"Some people get make-up sent to them for free because they influence so many people with their videos. How cool is that?"

"Very cool" I nodded, my fork playing with the food on my plate, taking a bite every few minutes. "Can you go make sure your brother hasn't climbed out his window or something?" I asked,

The girl nodded, "I mean, unless he has a death wish he should still be there"

"Thank you" I smiled as she made her way up stairs. I heard the faint music that was playing get louder, signalling that the door to Eddie's bedroom had been opened.

"Jesus, just making sure you're still alive" I heard Alaya say with an annoyed tone in her voice before the door slammed shut. "He's fine" She huffed, taking a seat back at the dinner table. "Is his biological Father really that bad?"

"Yes" Wilmer piped up as he pushed his empty plate away from him. "If you knew some of the stuff he did..." He trailed off, clenching his fists as his knuckles turned white in an effort to control his anger.

I looked down, "He wasn't a good person, and he will never be"

"How do you know that?" My daughter asked, tucking a piece of her long brown hair behind her ear as she spoke.

"Just trust me on it, okay baby girl?"

"Okay" She agreed, "I've got homework to do... I love you two, goodnight"

"Love you too, night" Wilmer and I said at the same time as the girl placed her dish in the sink before heading upstairs.

"Are you okay?" I asked my husband as he placed his empty plate in the sink.

He nodded, "I just hope he apologises without us having to tell him to. I know he didn't mean it, but it hurt to hear him say it anyway"

"I know, baby" I agreed, "He will come around, if he doesn't apologise by tomorrow night then I will be saying something"

..

I sat on my phone as Wilmer read a book next to me as we laid in our king size bed. Scrolling through Instagram, I liked one of Alaya's recent uploads. At first she wasn't sure about me following her, but she got over it after awhile. As long as she doesn't post anything that she wouldn't want me to see, it should be fine. Plus, I'm not a normal Mom, I'm a cool Mom.

A soft knock at our bedroom door startled both of us, "Yes?" I called as it slowly opened, revealing Eddie standing there.

"Can I talk to you, Dad?" He asked, looking at Wilmer with an ashamed expression on his face. "Alone" He clarified, I smiled before rolling out of the bed.
I smiled as I walked past my son, closing the door behind me before pressing my ear against it so that I could hear what was being said.

"I'm really sorry..." Eddie trailed off, "You're my Dad. My Father as far as I'm concerned. I feel so bad for what I said to you, I'm so grateful for everything that you have done for me. Alaya was right in what she said to me, you were there even before I was born. You saved Mom and I. You're my Father, you're my Dad. The only one I'll ever have as far as I'm concerned" A smile came across my face as I eavesdropped on the speech that Eddie had prepared. I knew he would come around. "I feel awful. It was just a heat of the moment thing, Dad. I'm really sorry"

"Thank you" Wilmer said, I could hear his mood lifted instantly through his tone. "Blood or not, we're family. I understand you might get curious, and now you know about Kehlani which is okay, but please don't go digging up the past"

"I won't" He reassured Wilmer,

"Good"

Third Person

'I told them I was sorry and that I won't do anything' Eddie texted to Nia as he sat on his double bed.

Three dots appeared on the screen of his iPhone before the message popped up, 'Great. The records should be in the public domain so we should be able to find out the charges and his full name' Nia replied.

Eddie quickly deleted the messages, he was paranoid that Demi and Wilmer were going to find out. He had never been told what Nick had done to them. Surely if it was that bad then they would have made him and Alaya aware, right? That's what Eddie continued to tell himself in an effort to reassure himself.

'Sounds good, tomorrow in the library?'

'See you then'

The teenage boy locked his phone before placing it next to his pillow and laying under the covers. Being eighteen in a few months, Eddie wanted to know more about his roots. If it wasn't for meeting Kehlani though, he would have left it where it should stay, buried.

Okay so I'm high key drawing from semi-personal experience with this Eddie stuff. My Mum had me when she was eighteen and my Father left. He wasn't a great person, he lied to my Mum a lot and was into drugs and stuff. For awhile I did want to know him and know who he was, his family, etc. even to the point where I tracked them down on Facebook. I understand now though that like I can't put my mum or family through that, my biological Father isn't a good person and I understand that now. Idk, drawing from that curiosity though.

There's so much different stuff going on with everyone in this story, I think I'm going to start just writing this in third person because there's going to be stuff going on with Alaya that no one is meant to know about and same with Eddie, but I don't want a whole chapter in their point of view so I'm thinking of doing it all in third person with the occasional chapter being Demi's point of view. Let me know what you think.
