Draco's POV
Draco's Owl came through his open window as he was watching one of the movies Hermione had recommended to him. He paused the movie and stood up off of the couch. He handed his owl a few treats and untied the letter.
Draco,
I would love to come over for lunch. It sounds perfect.
Hermione xx
He smiled at the letter and folded it up, placing it on the kitchen table.
He felt happy and nervous and He had no idea what to cook.
He looked in his fridge to find milk, butter, eggs and cheese. Nothing to make a proper meal. He skimmed over to his food cupboard and opened it. He found cereal, spices he had never used, cheese, pasta sauce, Random packets of chips and a packet of raw spaghetti. He grabbed the packet, settings it aside for when she arrives.
He wants to make it perfect. She had finally felt the same way that he had felt since the kiss on the first night, only he didn't know what he felt that night, he hadn't planned on falling for her, it just hit him. The old Draco left him years ago, but the player Draco, the one that wouldn't stay with the same girl for more than week, the one that hadn't even thought about marriage or family or any sort of long term relationship, was now rethinking everything about his future. Part of him knows that this could just be a fling, but part of him also knows that stuff like this, just doesn't happen.
Everything about her seemed perfect, every touch, every word, even just being in her presence just felt right. No denying that Draco was some what attracted to her in their Hogwarts years, maybe that's what drove him to be so cruel and mean. He was driven by love, not hatred. That particular thought stuck with him while making the simple dinner, he charmed the wooden spoon to stir while he changed into more casual. A simple white t-shirt with black jeans and runners. Too casual. He changed into suit pants and Italian leather shoes his mother gave him for his birthday at least two years ago. Too formal.
He felt like a teen girl getting ready for her first date with her crush. He changed back into the more casual outfit and only stopped staring and rethinking his clothes when he heard a knock on the door. He rubbed his hands on his jeans and took several deep breathes before opening the door.
She stood there smiling, she looked wonderful. She had high-waisted jeans on with a light blue V-neck tucked into the pants. Her hair was out and pushed behind her. Draco felt the air being pushed out of him. She smiled at him and he returned it.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey, come in" He motioned her in. She stepped forward and put her bag aside. He shut the door behind her and he felt butterflies spring to life in his stomach.
"Something smells wonderful." She turned back to Draco and smiled.
"Something i started to make. " He walked over to the kitchen and stopped the wooden spoon from moving.he drained the pasta and set it back on the stove. He poured some Napoli sauce on top and stirred. When the sauce was hot, he served two bowls and grated cheese on top. Hermione was already sitting at the table when he turned back around and placed the food on the table. He sat down opposite to her and picked up a fork, twirling the spaghetti around it.
"This looks amazing." She did the same thing and ate it.
"Without magic it really is nothing" he stated,
She laughed. He smiled at her laugh, it was so pure, real, it made him feel giddy.
" My cooking is probably as bad as Ron attempting to make a potion in 6th year." This made Draco laugh. It was hilarious but so true.
"How are you?" He asked.
"i'm well thank you, and how are you?"
"Alright, actually. How is work?"
"Fine, work just seems to continue to build up overnight, it just never dies down."
" i know what you mean." He chuckled.
"We sound like an old married couple." She looked deep into his eyes.
One day, he hopes, one day.
" I want this Draco." She reached over and took his hand.
"I want to be with you." Draco couldn't help but smile.
He cleared their plates and placed them on the sink. Hermione stood up and walked towards Draco. She reached for his hand and he took hers. He pulled her closer.
"Do you know how long i have been waiting for this?" He smirked.
"you don't wait any longer."He pulled her so close that there was no space between them. She looked up into his eyes and smiled. He leaned in and connected their lips. She didn't back away, she deepened the kiss and tangled her fingers in his hair.
Draco placed one hand on her cheek and continued to kiss.
When they broke apart, Draco took her hand and they went to the couch. They sat down and watched a movie and cuddled.
When the movie finished it was around 5.00 o'clock at night.
" I should be off. It's Monday tomorrow and I have to get back to work. " she grabbed her bag and kissed him on the Cheek. She smiled and he returned it.
" goodbye Granger. " He let go of hand and she stood in the doorway and gave him one last smile before disappearing.
