Draco had taken Hermione out for their usual Tuesday night date nights. Hermione was a little surprised because date night usually consisted of staying at home and eating pizza, watching a movie and cuddling.
She had put on a brown skirt that nearly went to her ankles and a loose black top tucked in with some simple black heels. She put on light make up and greeted Draco by the door.
He was dressed in a white long sleeve button up with no blazer or tie and simple suit pants. He smiled a very toothy smile. While in a relationship with Draco, she had discovered just how much of a child he is. He is always playing jokes and not acting seriously. but it always made Hermione smile. Some how.
"You look very beautiful."he held his arm.
"and you look very handsome." She laughed.
They walked out the house but didn't apparate.
"Aren't we going to apparate?" She turned to him.
"No, i thought we might go for a walk before the reservation." He looked in her eyes and smiled.
"Ok." She let go of his arm and entangled her fingers in his. Holding his hand, swinging it back and forth as they walked out of their apartment building. The cold air hit Hermione's face and she breathed it in. She squeezed his hand and gave a squeeze back.
They walked through a park that blossomed around them. Draco secretly waving his wand to have the flowers around them open and close around them. Hermione knew she was in a great place. And everything was perfect.
Although they walked silently, she knew she would remember this moment forever. They finally arrived at the restaurant. Draco opened the door for Hermione and she walked through, followed by Draco. The waiter recognised Draco and led the couple to a two seat table just beside a window. Hermione sat down, getting a strong sense of deja vu. It then hit her. This was the restaurant Draco first took her on their "first date." if you count the fake relationship. Hermione chuckled to herself.
"You recognise it?" He asked, pulling a cloth onto his lap.
"yeah." she looked around the room. It hadn't changed.
She looked down on the table, there was already garlic bread. This made her laugh more.
"Do i get order my own food?"She asked
"of course." and as if on cue, a waiter appeared with two menus, they took them and thanked the man.
They umm and ahhed over the menu. Finally making a decision Draco called over a waiter.
"I'm going to have, the steak, medium rare thanks." he handed his menu back.
"and i will have the carbonara pasta." She handed him her menu and looked back to Draco, sipping her wine, not breaking eye contact.
They talked about everything, the future, their relationship, the new election of the minister of magic and the prime minister of England, in which Hermione was leading the conversation.
When the food came, silence filled the table. The only sound was the live band playing. Hermione would smile and he would smirk back. He would laugh whenever Hermione ever had sauce around her mouth and she would laugh when he missed his mouth because he was staring at her.
But halfway through her food, Hermione felt a rumble in her stomach. Something didn't feel right.
She excused herself and found the bathroom. She went into the cubicle and immediately threw up into the toilet.
Draco soon realised that Hermione was gone for a while. He got up and walked towards the bathrooms.
"Hermione are you alright in there?" he knocked on the door.
no answer.
"hermoine, answer me or i'm coming in." he started to get worried
No answer.
He opened the door and looked in the cubicle opposite him, he saw Hermione, head over the toilet, all colour drained from her face.
He went to her side and took her hair in his hand. She threw up again. He rubbed her back with his other hand.
"I'm sorry." she said
"don't be sorry."
"all done?" He asked
She nodded. He picked her up and walked out of the bathroom. The waiter came over when he saw what he was doing.
"Is she alright?" He asked.
"yeah, just ate something funny, what was in her pasta?"
"uhh, garlic ,egg, cream, bacon, shellfish, parma-" he was interrupted.
"the shellfish." he said
Hermione let out a little smile.
The waiter apologised the couple walked out the restaurant. When they got around the corner, they apparated, it made Hermione feel a little bit more ill but they were't going to walk a long way incase she throws up again. Draco put Hermione on the couch and she rested her head on his lap. He slowly stroked her hair, soothing her.
"i was going to-" He sat up a bit and pulled out a box
"Do this at the restaurant but someone didn't read the menu enough." She laughed.
He handed her the box. She furrowed her eyebrows, taking it from him. She slowly opened it to find a simple silver ring with one beautiful diamond on the top. On the inside it had "D + H" engraved on the inside.
"it's a promise ring." She smiled and looked up at him and slid it on her finger
He went in the kiss but pulled away. "I would rather not get sick."
She laughed but lifted her arm and pulled his head close to hers and they kissed. After a few seconds they pulled apart, because Draco really didn't want to get sick. She feel asleep in his lap, the diamond promise ring glowing in the moonlight coming through their window.
