Sebastian stopped in the middle of the path diving into a bush with Aire. He quickly covered Aire's mouth with his leather gloves.
"Don't move a muscle," He whispers to Aire.
The sound of gravel being crumpled under the weight of a powerful being echoed through the lonely pillars. A strange musty smell emerged from the Ruins. Sebastian's mask blocked the smell, on the other hand. Aire had to endure the gut-wrenching smell.
"W-What is that?" Aire mumbled trying to stop his gagging reflexes.
"I'm certain they're not stalkers..." Sebastian thought aloud.
A distorted hissing sound followed as the strange steps grew faster. Aire struggled with discomfort as he knew the beast was edging closer. Sebastian held him down, "DON'T MOVE" his voice penetrated Aire's thick skull and he immediately stopped. The steps immediately stop right beside the bush. Sunlight pierced through the leaves revealing Aire's eye, he saw the blackish creature slumped over the bush. An arrow whizzing by alerted the creature, another arrow is fired hitting the creature setting it alight. The distorted screaming destroyed Aire's innocence. The creature melted into a puddle of matter. Clearly human footsteps come closer.
"You alright there?" a peculiarly familiar voice asks.
"Gaines?" Sebastian responds back leaping out of the bush.
Gaines gave a big smile. Sebastian nodded back.
"I heard you were off to deliver something, thought I should tag along!" Gaines placed the crossbow behind his back as he stepped forward to examine the puddle, "Say who's he?" He asked pointing to a bush. Gaines was somehow able to see him of course.
"Aire. Jaelin's brother," Sebastian responded crouching beside Gaines to also examine the puddle. They both touch the puddle with their gloves, examining the consistency. After a few minutes Gaines finally stands up, "Well you've got a package to deliver correct?" Gaines strided bravely forward as Sebastian and Aire quickly catch up, "To the castle!" he yells as he points his sword down the path.
