Sebastian packed his little pouch with a package and wrapped it around his shoulder. He made SURE he brought his pencil and notepad. He slowly opened the door to see the streets packed with people that they blocked the sunlight. The small buildings seemed puny compared to the towering castle walls.
"What a time to be living in," Sebastian thought to himself. He closed the door behind him and walked off to the castle gate. The guards half awake stood with their long spears and chainmail armor. The bridge was extended for use of adventurers and traders, they would obviously close soon for the Stalkers would attack. Sebastian had to take a dangerous route to quickly deliver the package, thieves always would rob people there. He hoped there wouldn't be as much after the news of the Stalkers.
He continued to walk through the winding path up to the hill, when he finally made it a cottage was in view. It's torches lighting up the area around it. It was getting dark, and fast. Seemed like someone was home, after all the smell of pie was irradiating from the cottage. Sebastian walked up to the door and knocked 5 times. A voice could be heard from inside, "Coming!" It was clearly female. The door opened and a young lady looked up to see Sebastian tower over her.
"You know of the stalkers?" Sebastian asked.
"I do..." She replied worried.
"May I stay for just a night? I've got important business for tomorrow," Sebastian asked.
"I guess you could for a night, come in!" She grabbed Sebastian's arm leading him in then closing the door behind him, "The pie is almost ready!" She was excited, as if this was gonna be the best pie ever.
"Sorry uhh, I don't e~ I'm not hungry," Sebastian mumbled.
"Well alright, if you need anything just ask!" She gave him a big smile and skipped off to the kitchen.
"Jeeze she's excited," Sebastian said to himself. He opened up his pouch and pulled out a package. He sat there for a moment admiring it. Looked like a normal package, but what was inside was what mattered most.
"Sorry I didn't get your name earlier, what is it?" She poked her head out asking him from the kitchen.
"Sebastian, call me Sebastian," He proudly said.
"Call me Kate!" She walked over to where he was sitting and held out a hand. Sebastian shook hands with her and she hurried back to the kitchen.
"A nice person for once," Sebastian said loud enough for Kate to hear.
