CHAPTER THREE: THE BOY WITH THE BIG BROWN EYES

I kept my face buried in my book until everyone was seated and when I looked up, I saw someone. Someone I couldn't take my eyes off of. He had dark chocolate brown hair, a little button nose with a dimple at the end, big brown eyes you could get lost in and fair skin. The left side of his face was covered in adorable little moles and he had bruiting shoulders. The boy sat there fidgeting with his pencil and tapping his feet on the cold tile. "Glorious isn't he?" A girl who sat behind me whispered. I looked back at her. "Uh...what?" I questioned all though I knew exactly what she was talking about. "To bad I'm taken. I'd be all up in that. I'm Ariana Garcia."

"Ryan Summers." I said running my fingers through my long golden hair. "That's Dylan. Dylan O'brein and uh as of right now he's very single." I just simply nodded. She sat back in her seat and I could hear her start to scribble on a piece of paper. The note read, "Sit with me at lunch." I nodded and got back to "listening" to the lecture.

Chemistry ended after an excruciating 45 minutes and Ariana walked with me in the hall. "You need to make your move." She said smacking her bubble gum. "What are you talking about?"

"Uh, duh! Do something to get Dylan to notice you, sweet cheeks."

"Like what?" I questioned. "Like this..." Dylan was entering the bathroom. "Act like you're lost and almost go into the guys locker room. Slightly cliche but it's a patented method." I chuckled. "Ok. What not." I started up the hallway to the boys locker room and just in time Dylan came out. "Uh, are you lost?" He asked grabbing my shoulder. "Yeah. I mean I guess. I'm new." I was surprised at my acting skills. "Okay well, where are ya headed?" He asked looking me square in the eyes. Damn, his eyes were beautiful. "English."

"Okay well you wouldn't normally find an English classroom in the hallway to the boys locker room so..." He smirked. "Yeah. I'm not sure what I was thinking. Maybe I'm just delusional."

"You're in luck....what's your name?" He asked nudging for me to head down the hall with him. "Ryan. Ryan Summers."

"You're in luck Ryan Summers because I'm going to English also."

Ariana watched us from afar, hiding behind any wall she could make it to in time to not be seen.

Dylan and I sat together in English and it was pretty quiet for the most part. I could tell he was looking at me sometimes in class but I didn't bring any attention to it. "Hey, uh, Ryan?" He said nervously. "Yeah?"

"Do you want to hang out after school sometime?" He scratched the back of his neck and squinted as if he thought I would say no. "Yeah. That'd- that'd be cool."

"Cool." I could tell that when he looked away, he was smiling and I think he knew I was too.

"So how'd it go with Dylan?!" Ariana asked as she sat across from me at lunch. "He asked if I wanted to hang out sometime after school. I said yes." She rolled her eyes. "That's it?! You don't talk much do you?" She asked taking a bite of her salad. "Not really. I just have to know that I can trust the people I talk to." Ariana was pretty. She had piercing blue eyes, perfect skin, blonde hair and deep dimples on her cheeks. "Oh I understand. When are you guys hanging out?"

"Sometime after school?" I already told her that. "Thank you captain obvious. What day?"

"I'm not sure. I hope tomorrow."

Lunch ended and I finished the rest of the school day. When I got home, I unpacked my room a little and wrote. Writing was really the only thing I was good at. I was also pretty decent at drawing but nothing noteworthy.

"Did you make any friends?" My mom came into my room and asked me. "Yeah. One. Her name is Ariana and I met a boy." She raised her eyebrows and sat next to me on my bed. "What's his name?"

"Dylan. We might hang out after school tomorrow or the next day so if you guys couldn't be here, that would be much appreciated." I giggled. "Planning on using protection?" My mom asked. "Are you joking right now, mom?! I just don't want you or dad to embarrass me...oh god. You don't think I would-"

"Honey! I was joking. Have fun with Dylan just tell me when he'll be over and we can be out of the house." She kissed my forehead and I got back to writing.
