Scarlet's POV

I looked into Chrissy's broken eyes and quickly wiped the lipstick off my lips. What was I thinking, ever crushing on him! I rush to her and pull her into a hug. Her tears soak into my denim shirt but I don't complain, I just hug her tight and stay completely quiet. Finally she pulls away and I keep her at arms length and look into her blue green eyes. Suddenly her deep pout turn into a grin and she starts to giggle.

"You have pink on your cheek!" She screeches and pulls out her compact to show me. My pink lipstick is smeared across my right cheek and I slowly have to get it off with spit. GROSS! She is still smiling when it is finally all gone and she has put the compact back into the pocket of her American Eagle jeans.

"See, it wont take you long to get over him." I say and put on a sympathetic smile, "He isn't worth the tears any way." She nods and I lead her back to her seat as the band director, Mr. Hinez, comes in. I lift my chin and turn to Chrissy to make sure the tears had been wiped away. They were.

We play through the music for the up coming concert but my mind keeps wondering. The bell dismisses us and I quickly pack up my flute before heading to fashion design class. Half way down the hall an elbow loops through mine and I look over at the blond hair that makes up the head of Lulu.

"Has she told you yet? I ask her and she nods.

"Ya, she text me after the bell." She tells me as we enter class and plop down in our seats.

" What did she say?"

"She said, and I quote: "Jake broke up with me after what seemed like a lifetime of dating. I'm not sorry though because if he thought I wasn't "the one" than he wasn't the one for me." End quote."

I nod and turn towards the front of the room, waiting for the class to be over.

As I walk through  the line and grab a caramel frappuccino, I try to ignore the fact that Jake's eyes are boring into my back. It feels like he is trying to communicate without words.

"Talk to me" The burning in my back says, "I'm sorry."

I pull out a couple dollars and hand it to the lunch lady before hurrying over to the table that Chrissy is at. I know he wont follow me.

"So whats the deal with your signing." She asks and takes a bite of her banana.

"We meet up tomorrow after school at his house." I say, " I am sooo nervous."

"What are you nervous about?" Lulu asks as she sits down next to me with a full tray. She's lucky, no nerves are chewing at her stomach.

"The meeting with the agent." I respond and take a sip of the coffee as she nods. From across the  room, Jake meets my eyes and he mouths something to me. I crinkle my brows and he shakes his head. He should know by now that I can't read his lips. I wasn't trying very hard anyways.
