Stella's POV
I wake up the next morning only to find that the cell room is empty. I frown in confusion. Even if all the boys did leave, wouldn't Jonah wake me up to at least let me know? Wait, he doesn't even know me. Who am I kidding? He doesn't give a shit about the first thing that happens to me, I bet he wouldn't bat an eyelid if I didn't survive the night....

Jonah's POV
I sit at the breakfast table with Dean and the boys. I can't help but feel guilty leaving Stella all alone in the cells. As guilty as I feel, I'm slightly excited that she's giving me a chance. A chance to explain everything and bring her out of the dark. I don't know her past, but I know that I have the potential to help her, somehow. The only thing that scares me, is how much I'll have to tell her.

Stella's POV
As I scan the room, hoping for Jonah to suddenly turn up, my eyes land on the change of clothes at the end of my bed. I feel the muscles tense in my face and I ball my fists. My gaze slides swiftly over the burnt orange jumpsuit on the mattress. If I'm going to stay here for three and a half years, I might as well make an attempt to belong. I walk back over to my bed and begin to change clothes.
Just as I finish changing, I hear the door's unforgettable creak, one that I will hear for a while. Jonah? I stand up quickly, ready for his presence. But I am surprised as the broad shoulders and fit physique of Sheriff Linkin come into view. "Sheriff?" His eyes are bloodshot and his face his pale. "Stella..., "he rasps. I shiver, concerned by his tone. I scoot backwards, but it isn't long before my back hits the wall, Linkin notices but keeps moving forward. I'm lost for words, unsure of what to do. "Uhh, Sheriff? What do you think you're doing?! Are you drunk?" I look around, praying for someone, anyone, Jonah, even Dean, who I'd like to get to know, he seems nice. Frantically searching for a way out, I am stopped by Linkin pinning by hands to wall, by my sides. Now I'm scared. "I'm hardly drunk Stella, just, experimenting." "Well I was experimenting and that got me here, in jail," I blurt out, shocked at my own confession. "If you try any harder to 'experiment,' you will end up losing your job and in a cell of your own." Linkin leans closer to me, his face centimetres away from mine. I can smell the whisky on his breath. "But that wouldn't be such a bad thing, would it?" Before I can reply, his lips are on mine, and I couldn't be more disgusted, I try to shrug him off, but his grip is like iron, the tight handcuffs I was wearing just yesterday. In a desperate attempt to get this creep off me, I lift my leg up to kick him in the balls, and I am inches away when I hear a female voice come from the door. "Stella?" Linkin pulls away, to my relief and turns to see the person I had hoped to see but least expected to.
"Jen?" I gasp, breathless from the horrible make out session with Linkin. "What is this?" She spits. "You and the sheriff?" "I don't know what that was Jen, I can explain..." "NO!" Her sudden response startles me. "I came here to find you and maybe get you out of this shitty situation you're in because of me, but I find you, sucking the sheriff's face off! I knew I was wrong to leave you, but now that I've seen this, I'm not apologising anytime soon. In fact, you seem to be enjoying yourself here, so I won't ruin the fun." She storms out, leaving me and the sheriff alone, but before he can make another move on me, I storm out of the cell room, but I'm not following Jen.

Jonah's POV
"I'm sorry, you mean to tell me that Sheriff Linkin just hit on you?" I ask, completely blown away. Just a few moments ago, me and the boys were just at the breakfast table chin wagging when Stella ran in, tears streaming down her face. The boys left a little while ago, so it's just her and me. "Yes," she mumbles, "not to mention that my best friend caught us, when she was only coming to visit me." "Wait, is this the girl who ditched you the night you got arrested?" She nods in response. My face flushes in anger at what I've just heard. "Why are you still talking to this Jen girl after what she did to you? She betrayed you!" "Why do you care?" She fires back, her voice raised. I don't want an argument like yesterday, so I calm down and try to change the subject. "Stella, I think now is a good time to explain everything. Why you're the only girl, why there are hardly any people here and why you just witnessed a drunk sheriff. What do you want to know first?" I inquire, curious as to what she will ask first. "What did you do?" She answers immediately. "What do you mean by that?" I ask, concerned now. "What I mean to say is, why are you here?"
