The Creatures (Pierce the veil fan fic)

Chapter 1

Recap:

Are you sure this is it em? asks draven. Yes i say. Next we wait.

Embers POV:

I wake up in draven's arms the child i was holding was no longer with me he had found his family.I here explosions and machine gun fire. I bet you are wondering what the hell  is going on right? Well you see it all started a couple years ago when nasa had found some weird life forms on another planet. They sent out a rocket with a group of scientists on it. Once the rocket got there the life forms started attacking the ship, causing a huge explosion. Only 2 people made it out of the 13 people sent. When NASA sent help out the life forms got to earth and slowly got bigger. Once they were big enough they started attacking buildings. That is when the war started, we won the first war, but they started sending more and more life forms to earth. So far over 38 countries have been completely taken over by the life forms, or as we like to call "The Creatures". The US has been lucky , but we new it was coming. As all the other countries said before they were attacked, you start out hearing 3 booms, then the sky turns purple, red, and black, then the moon turns full. When that happens you have 30 minutes to get to your safe zone which isn't that safe, before the creatures come. You might be thinking oh once you get to the safe zone you are fine, the truth is you are not. A lot of safe zones have been destroyed because they were not deep enough or that they didn't have one. Our safe zone is the safest because it is HUGE! and is very deep underground. I am a part of the U.S.N.A.G which stands for, U.S. NATIONAL APOCALYPSE GUARD, it was formed a few months after the attack on other countries. All it is is one person from every state was chosen to got to Apocalypse training. I was chosen for my state. I spent 3 months in training, i know not that long, but i learned a lot. I started training the other people in my city to fight, ( only 3 cities in each state have a safe zone), We are prepared. Our city came up with a system, which goes like this: we have one leader, Layla. Each day Layla would pick 4 people 2 for fighting the creatures and 2 for looking for survivors, your schedule changes every day. We have one main rule. NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS WE MUST STAY TOGETHER!  OK everyone line up yells layla. We all get in one line. I have chosen the 4 people today. Group 1: Noah and Jake, you two will be fighting in New Zealand you will be sent out first thing tommorrow morning. They nod. Group 2: Porter and Ember. I freeze. I have never in a million years thought that i would be chosen. I nod at her. Group two will be looking for survivors. You will be sent to San Diego, california. First thing tommorrow morning also. Ok groups please follow me. We follow her to a big room, ok you may chose 3 people to say bye to, because i honestly don't know if you will be coming back. She says. I chose 1 person  since i only have Draven so i choose him. He comes into the room. Hey i say hi he says as he engulfs me in a hug. I feel tears forming in my eyes but i push them back. I have to be strong not just for my city, but for Draven. He has been through everything with me, he was here when my mom was sent to prison for life,( I never knew my dad), he was there when my little brother was killed in a school bus accident. He was the best best friend anyone could ask for. He was there for everything with me. It's hard to think that this may be the last time i see him. I hear Draven start to cry in my shoulder. shhh, I say. Drav its ok i'm still here. I ain't going fucking no where i say with a smile. he smiles too. 

Draven's POV:

I start to cry into ember's shoulder. I just cant think of how life would be if i no longer had her. She was the one who when ever i would call her no matter what time she would be there. She was the one who stopped me from self harming and helped me get out of my depression stage, and she would make me laugh so hard i would cry. She was always there for me. I not only loved her as a best friend but I think that I am IN LOVE  with her, i hope she feels the same way, and to think that this might be the last time I ever see her only made me cry harder. Shhh she says with her soft angelic voice. Drav it's ok i'm still here. I ain't going fucking no where she says with a smile. I look up at her and chuckle a little bit then smile.

NEXT MORNING:

Ok troops get up yells layla, i run to the girls bathroom and put on camo pants a tank top and combat boots. I put a hoody over it and grab my assault rifle. I go up to Draven see you later Drav i say with a smile then hug him. See you later willy gator  he says with a smile.( that's my nickname cause my last name is willows) I laugh a little then let go. I wave then go to the landing paltform where i see the helicopter waiting for me with Porter already on it. I throw my gun up and he catches it then helps me in.  You ready, asks Porter, Hell fucking Yeah I say. He chuckles then we are off.

Authors note:

Hey guys tell me what you think sorry no PIerce the veil yet, they will be in the next chapter i promise you! :) Also if you know anyone that self harms, is bullied, suicidal, ect. get them help right away, and most importantly be there for them!!!!!
