Chapter 7
Faith's POV
As I dream of a better ending a breeze catches me off guard causing chills across my skin. My eyes open to Jeff carrying me as he runs. I look up at him in confusion, of course he ignores and continues running. What is going on? Where are we going? Where is he taking me? More importantly. What is he running from.
"J-Jeff," I try speaking to him.
He does not reply. I can feel his heart beat as he runs. He actually has a heart. I can feel his hand tighten it's grip on my thighs giving me slight goosebumps. I am not used to him being this close or against me.
Eventually, he stops running and sets me on my feet. It takes me a minute to regain my balance.
"W-What happened?" I ask concerned.
"It was to dangerous for you," Jeff responds.
I shrug not knowing what to respond sense he knows more about this kind of stuff than me. The trees give off and chilling feel as I gaze around at my surroundings.
"You are going to help me tonight," Jeff tells me.
"Do I have an option?" I ask knowing the answer.
"Faith you need to know how to survive like me," He explains.
"And you need to know how to survive like a normal person," I reply.
Why does he want me to kill with him? Can I be forced to kill? Then, Jeff grabs onto my wrist and puts five knives in my hand.
"I want you to hit that tree," He points at a slim narrow tree.
What choice do I have?
I hold a knife in my other hand as I try throwing. The knife land two feet in front of me. Jeff face palms. I try again and throw the knife to far to the left. After many attempts and face palming, Jeff tries to help.
He puts his hand around mine trying to position my fingers the right way or his way. Then he shows me how to line up the target to the knife. Instead of his heart beating, I felt him breathing. Pretty weird. Finally he helps me throw and hit the tree perfectly.
"Thank you," I speak.
He sits back against a different tree probably expecting me to do it perfect now. I hit the tree pretty close to Jeff's and a lot better from my previous tries.
----
The stars began appearing as I stared at their beauty.
"Let's go," Jeff says beginning to run.
I follow after him walking over his footsteps. Jeff lead us to a trailer park, a pretty run down one. He lifted up one of the windows and hopped inside. Then he helped me get inside. Jeff approached a man sleeping on a small bed. He woke up making Jeff smirk and cover the guy's mouth.
"Go to sleep," Jeff commanded forcing him to shut his eyes.
"Faith kill him," He commanded at me.
Thoughts went through my head. Why am I here? Should I?
"Faith," He growled.
I'm sorry.
I kill the man. Jeff finishes him off with his signature forced smile. I sigh upset with myself. I just killed someone.
