Chapter One: The Baby Project POV: Audrey
I woke up to a bright light streaming through my window. Ugh today's Monday. I look at the clock. It's 9:00! Why didn't anyone wake me up? School started 30 minutes ago and today is the starting day of The Baby Project.
I jumped out of bed and put on the first pair of clothes I found not even taking a second glance at them. I ran to the kitchen to grab a granola bar. There was a yellow note on the fridge "Went to work early. Have to work late tonight. XOXO Mom". That explains why no one woke me. My dad is on a business trip for a week in London.
I ran out to my car eating the granola bar on the way. I raced to school in record speed making the normal ten minute time four minutes. First period will be ending in about five minutes. I got to my locker right when the bell rang for passing period.
My best friend Rosie came running over. "Oh my gosh! Where were you?! I thought you got in a car accident!" Did I tell you Rosie was a worrier? Well, she is. Rosie gets worried about the smallest things.
"I'm fine I just woke up late. Not a big deal," I chuckled, "Stop worrying so much."
She ignored me completely and went on talking about The Baby Project. Rosie and I had the same health class with the school player also Rosies big crush Jacob Stark. All the girls at Riverpark High School wanted Jacob Stark except me. I hated him and he hated me. We have no history as friends to hate each other but the second we laid eyes on each other we hated each other.
I hope I don't get paired with him. I can't stand being in the same class as him. If I had to spend three months in the same house as him I don't know what I'd do. Rosie snapped me out of thinking by clapping in front of my face.
"I hope I get Jacob as my partner. Anyway, come on, if we dont go now we're gonna be late for health."
I groaned. Time to see who I have to "marry" and have a "child" with.
