Luke - Part 3

A/N : I'm so so sorry I haven't updated in a while I have been having a ton of writers block. That means this chapter is probably going to be the worst. Shout out to my friend  @malums_smile for the new cover, it's so beautiful i'm in love. Now onto the chapter...

Michael's P.O.V

"Your highness, my apologies but she got away" The guards I sent said while trembling. Tch. People incapable of a small trivial task such as capturing one girl are useless.  I should get rid  of this trash before any wars start. 

"Hmm?" I've already made up my mind, "Then why are you still alive if you can't handle such a task?" I will eliminate those who don't have any use. 

..........

"Maid, clean this mess up", as I left the dead bodies of those deadbeat guards.

Luke's P.O.V

I have been called to the Kings chambers for some unknown reason. Funny, that's where Calum, my good friend, died. And I'm being summoned there for the same reason, the unknown. Everything about that incident is so strange. He was killed in front of the King who apparently didn't have time to react when Aliksa pulled out her dagger. She was still going through training, so there is no way she could've been faster than the king. And Calum was telling me how kind she is, it doesn't make sense. 

Huh? I was so lost in my own thoughts, I was subconsciously moving my feet and now it seems I  am already at the Kings chamber. 

"Sire, you have called for me?" I say as the guards open his doors to let me in. 

"Yes. Luke, I want you to track down Calum's murderer and kill her. You will start this quest tomorrow."

"M-me? I follow your requests as ordered, and I always will, but may I ask why me?"

"You were close to Calum, yes? So you should take revenge.

I let this thought sink in. True. Calum was my best friend, and a noobie assassin killed him. The same one he trusted. "Understood Sire", I left as quickly as I  could after that. Truth is, I don't want to take revenge on her since Calum thought so highly of her, but the King himself asked me to do so. It is both an honor to have been chosen and a burden, since I know what happened to the last lot of guards who let her get away.

I entered my shared dorm and sigh loudly.

"Woah now, was the thing the King asked for that bad?", said my roommate and best friend, Ashton. He has been helping me deal with Calum's death a lot recently and has been by my side, we've both been through a lot. 

"He asked me to go find and kill the girl who apparently killed Calum"

"Are you sure you're up for it? You're still getting over his death and aren't certain she's the murderer. Can you refuse?"

"Not really, you know what happened to the other guards. Doesn't mean I like it though. I don't like taking revenge."

"...yeah. How about we go out?" He said in an attempt to brighten the mood.

"No thanks. I would rather stay in and play some cards before I set out tomorrow. I've got a long day ahead."

"Sure." He said with a bright smile

We would always play cards and he would always win but I didn't really care. It was just fun but I'm going to be missing that for a while. I have a sinister quest ahead which I have to complete even though I don't really think shes the murderer. But, we will just have to wait and see.

A/N

This is where it all kicks off. Luke never likes revenge, he doesn't like having to kill innocent people. He also has a dab of doubt in his heart. He doesn't believe the king would have done this, but he must do as he is ordered. Sorry just kinda reiterated what was said before XD
