Chapter 4

~~~~~~~~~
"Ok I'm picking up your car now. So where am I meeting you again?" Kayla's voice said out of my pink iPhone.
"BrickMount beach, our secret spot." I said in a sultry voice.
" Ok. But seriously shook sucked without you today. Be there soon. Bye" Kayla hung up.
BrickMount Pack was know for having the best if both worlds. An amazing redwood forest full of beautiful, lush foliage, and a white sandy beach with crystal clear waters.
I sat with my feet in the sand waiting for Kayla to show up at KG Cove. That's what we named our secret beach. Kayla and Georgia's Cove seemed to long. So KG Cove was created.
I found this beach when I was running through the woods. Well in reality I didn't find it, I fell into it. Stepping through a mass of vines I slid through a rocky tunnel of some sorts and ended up in a dark cove. It just so happens that the rocky cove lead out to a 'private' beach blocked off on both sides by huge outcroppings.
I sat now on the beach soaking in the late afternoon sun. Listening to the waves crash against the shore, making a satisfying "ssssshhhhh" sound.
My cherry red longboard is waxed and ready to go. Longboards are the easiest type of surfboard to ride, and most beginners start with this type. I ditched my Gun, a board made for huge, fast waves, for a relaxing smooth ride on the calm Pacific.
"Whoohoo!"
I hear Kayla's shouts of joy from behind the coves stony walls. She soon appears with a longboard of her own, it's black with a gold fin on the bottom and a gold legrope. Classic Kayla.
"Hey" I smile weakly.
"Tuff day?" she frowns.
"Yeah, Henry's an egotistical butt face who needs to make up his mind." I huff.
Heartbroken, yep.
Angry, oh hell yes.
"Well we all know the remedy for a bad day!" Kayla says as we look out to the beautiful waves.
"First one in a barrel wins!" I shout, tearing up the beach as is race towards the ocean.
Diving in, I let the water wash away my emotions. It's just the ocean, my board, and I. Nothing more.
Soon I see it, that perfect wave, the one, you just know it.
Padding with all my might I glide forwards then swiftly turn my board in a complete 180.
This is it.
...........................
After surfing with Kayla until my legs were sore and arms no longer useful we headed back towards the pack house.
"Tell me when dinners ready!" Kayla says running past me to get the first shower in our joint bedrooms.
"Yeah yeah!" I holler back, heading towards the kitchen for a snack.
Turning the corner I bump right into my mother,
"How was school Georgia?" She asked, turning her beautiful green eyes towards me.
Unlike my mother I'd gotten my fathers stormy gre eyes. One thing I did get from my mother was the same hair. Her auburn grey streaked hair was now in a messy bun, tied in place with a satin blue ribbon. She had on her worn blue overalls and a daisy yellow shirt. If my mother wasn't growing some grey hairs I could almost forget she was almost fifty two years old.
She looked at me expectantly.
"Well," I began, my lip beginning to tremble, if almost frogotten about Henry, almost.
"I found my mate today." I mumbled. My mother with her werewolf hearing could still understand my incoherent muttering and began to squeal with joy.
"Oh my baby! This is amazing! I'm going to be a grandmother!" she rambled. Ever since my little incident, mothers been extremely in-tuned with anything and everything about me, myself, and I.
"Mom, wait." I said, tears threatening to spill.
She stopped bouncing up and down once she met my gaze, "oh no."
"Oh yes. He straight out rejected me mom!" I began to yell, no longer capable of holding it all in. "He called me weak and a nerd then came by the pack house and kissed me! what kind of a game is he playing !!" I sobbed into my mothers shoulder, streaking it with both snot and tears. By now the entire pack house must know about what happened to me. Why do I have to be such an ugly cryer?
"Georgia, honey, look at me." My mother began in a soothing tone.
"He doesn't deserve these tears. To me it seems that he's having mixed emotions about finding his mate. It's not uncommon and happens to a lot of other wolves. Just giving him some time, give him some space, then give him a choice." she paused, "Five words. Take me or Leave me."
And with that the motherly moment was over. I guess I can only get so much from my mother. She was never one who cared about others emotions. Sometimes shes more alpha than my father.
I started up the stairs to my room, then into the shower. Kayla left no warm water, but that's ok. Turning on the shower to as cold as it would go, I submerged myself into the stream of falling water. The water didn't only numb my body, it also numbed my mind.
