I didn't want to get up. My body would barely allow me to.
I tossed and turned in my bed as I gripped the navy blue comforter and pulled the sheets over my head trying to hide in the soft sheets of my kingsized mattress. I heard the sounds of the Reggatone music playing in the room next door and grumbled. "If you don't turn that fucking shit off I'll shoot you in your Vagina." I slammed my fist against the wall and the music ceased then came a banging at my door.
"Then get out of bed, lazy ass." she shouted at me as she walked past the door. I sighed ebfore turning to look at my clock. 6:30. Why the hell did school ahve to start so early. I stood from my bed and shook my head. I ran a hand through the brown locks that fell voer my shoulder.
I stood in the mirror, running my hand through the brownish black hair, falling over ym shoulder and cascaded down to my shoulders. "Bitch ." I muttered. I grunted as I looked back to my heart shaped face the my faint tan gracing my skin surface. The hazel eyes staring back at me. My semi-full lips curved into my usual smirk as I turned out of my bathroom and towards my closet.
I rummaged through the millions of clothes I owned until I came to a basket ball jersey and tapped my chin. It was the last one my grandma bought for me before she passed away. '93 Chicago Bulls jersey with the famous number 23 on it. I flipped through ym closet for a pair of black skinny jeans and sighed for a moment before laying the next to the jersey. I quickly rushed back to my bathroom and ran the shower before hopping in.

I came down about fifteen minutes later. my hair tied back into a pony tail, my lip ring sitting in place and my bear arms visible as I grabbed a bottle of Sunny D orange juice from the fridge, a chocolate chip muffin and my skate board. I was out the door and riding down the newly cemented sidewalk as I made my way towards the school Building.
I rode a few houses down and smiled when I came across a familiar bricked townhouse. The stained glass window gave way to the heavily catholic family that lived here. I walked up the cobblestone steps and rapped my knuckles along the cherrywood door.
Seconds later a small child came an answered the door her little heart shaped face smiled up at me and raised her arms up. "Buenos Dias, Jenny." I said to the little girl who kissed my sheek. Jenny was my friend Moani's Little sister. They belonged to the half Hawaiian half Dominican family that lived three doors down from me moved in when I was about three
"Travy?" I heard the rolling of 'r' in my first name as Mrs.Kepa entered the living room. "Como estas?" She asked.
" Bueno y que?" I replied, Good and you? I set little Jenny down as we turned to walk into the kitchen. I smiled faintly as we entered the moderate sized kitchen where a oak wood dining table and granite covered coutners resided.
"What's for Breakfast, Ma?" I asked I always reffered to her as Ma because she was like a second mother to me. She turned to looked at me and shook her head. Her Black hair cascaded down her back, her huge brown eyes looking me up and down. I always knew that Moani had gotten her looks from mother both were very beautiful.
"Is that all you ever think about is your stomach?" She asked before swearing words I dared not say even in spanish. I heard the rumbling of footsteps come down only to see Ani's youngest sibling Marco holding their chihuaha Hana boi.
The dog jumped from the Marco's small arms and rushed to smell me making sure I was not an inturder in his home. "Down Hana." Mrs.Kepa said to the dog before I moved to pick up Marco. He continuously poked my arms the muscles that were visible I cosntatnly flexed to see him giggle.
"When i get big I wanna be like you." I chuckled faintly as his statement and set him down before ruffling his head.
"You wanna be be better than me." I winked and handed him the muffin I had broguht from home. He took it and in a matter of seconds he was up the stairs and on his way to his room.
"What did you jsut give that boy?" Ma, asked me as I looked to her before, removing my red and black Bulls hat from the top of my head.
"Oh just a muffin." I replied quickly as she put a plate with Plantains, sweet red beans and rice and a few pieces of sausage infront of me. I smiled faintly. "Gracias." I said before she walk past and went to the stairs.
"Moani get down here! Travis Is here." The rolling of the 'r' in my name made me smile a bit more as I ehard her call back down.
"I'm coming." She groaned as the bathroom door closed again. I sighed, before I finished eating. I stood up careful not to hit my head on the low hanging chandelier. I was rather tall, standing at about 6 foot 2.
I walked to the sink and began washing the dishes that sat there before Ma returned to the kitchen.
"Oh leave that Mijo, I'll get to it later." She said before walking over to turn the water off.
"I've got it Ma, I know that if I don't do it, MoMo won't." I said that last part louder before hearing the bathroom door open again and the rapid pattering of foot steps as she made her way down the steps. And there stood the 6 foot tall latino/hawaiian girl that I caleld my best friend. I smiled at her as she walked over and smacked the back of my head before hugging me.
"Jerk." she muttered before fliping her Light brown hair over her shoulder the tips had been dyed again to a vibrant green color that helped to bring out the slight tan in her skin. I smiled faintly as she moved to sit down and eat the food her mother had prepared. Moani wasn't like most girls in the neighborhood. She wasn't skinny but she wasn't fat either. She was right in between with curves that would break necks when she walked past. It wasn't her body that usually caught my attention, it was the Hazel eyes that she sported the rounded almound shape eyes that when she wanted them to be, they'd get big and make you want to do anything she said.
"Done." She said before hopping up from her seat and smiled at me.
"Here Mija." Her mother stopped us as we grabbed our boards and our bags and walked towards the door. She reached into her pocketbook and handed Ani a twenty dollar bill. "Oh and make sure you're home right after school I ahve to work tonight." She said as we hurried down the stairs.
"Adios." I smiled as we hopped on our boards and began riding down the sidewalk. I kickflipped off the curb on my board as I made my way across the streets. I looked back as she crossed the street her strides quicker as she tried to catch up. "Watch this." I said before ushing my weight to the back of the board. The bottom of it grinding on the railing that linked down to the stiars below. I chuckled as She copied follwoing behind me.
"Why must you be a show off?" she asked and I shrugged.
"Cause you love me?" I responded before we came to stop out side of our school. Mckinely Tech, Home of the Falcons.
"Back for another year of hell." She said, shaking her head.
