The sound of the bell had rung and pencils were slammed across the desks. Textbooks were shoved in backpacks and notebooks were held tightly across their chest as students stood from their desk to exit out of the classroom. Every student within the class had sprung up so fast as if there was a fire, but I wasn't in a rush. I quickly grabbed my textbooks, my book bag and made my way out of the classroom.

My last class of the day was English and it was my least favorite. My teacher was a dick head and honestly, I would find every opportunity to piss him off. No matter what I did in that class, he would find the smallest thing to complain about. Fairly, I didn't know whether or not he had it out for me or something. As I made it to my English class, I noticed my friend Cameron was walking from the other side of the hallway.

"Hey Cam." I waved as I walked into the classroom.

"Sup Keyanna." He said we took our seats in the back of the class. "I can tell you don't wanna be here?" Cameron said chuckling to himself.

"How'd you know?" I asked as I pulled out my notebook.

"Because I know how much you hate Mr. McClain."

"He's an asshole. That's why. Every chance he gets, he comes for me when I don't even send for him." I replied as noticed my teacher walking into the room.

"Here we go..." I whispered to myself as Mr. McClain began lecturing the class.

"Good Afternoon everyone. "

Everyone in the class grew silent as he continued to speak to the class.

"Today, we will be going over last night's assignment. How many of you guys went ahead and read chapter 6, 7, and 8?" He looked around the room as he stood in front of the whiteboard.

Cameron glanced over at me as I flared my nostrils. "Key, don't do it." Cameron warned me.

I smirked as I leaned back in my seat.

"Based on the class's response, I assume no one went ahead and read the next set of chapters? You guys are making this harder on yourselves." Mr. McClain exclaimed as he turned around and grabbed his textbook and began searching through the pages.

"No, you make it harder for everyone else." I retaliated as the classroom laughed.

"Who said that?" Mr. McClain yelled across the classroom.

His eyes scanned the room to find the culprit.

"Keyanna? Do you have something you would like to say?" Mr. McClain looked at me as I stared back with fire in my eyes. I was sick of his shit.

"Actually I do. Why do you disrespect your students on a daily basis?" I questioned him.

"Come again? I don't disrespect my students. The only person in this class who I find disrespectful is you, Ms. Keyanna." He reassured me as he walked closer toward the students in front of the class.

"I haven't done anything. You made a smart ass comment about us not reading ahead, so I clapped back because you were being disrespectful. We came into this classroom to learn and you made a ugly remark about us not reading ahead. Hell, at least we read what we were suppose to read. Is that not good enough for you? You just have to belittle us, don't you?"

The classroom grew silent as if there was a national debate going on within the classroom between the Mr. McClain and I.

"You better lower your voice, Miss or else." Mr. McClain ordered. This was the time to push him to his limits.

"Or else what?" I scoffed back.

"1 hour detention, for a week." Mr. McClain commanded.

The class started whispering as I leaned back into my chair. Anger danced across my face as Cameron shook his head.
