But You Didn't... (Kisuke Urahara x Reader)

(A/N Okay so this poem I'm using is so not mine, it's by Merrill Glass, it's so totally amazing please look it up!)

A woman stands on the wall of the Seireitei and closes her eyes, she smiles a small, sad smile as the wind blows her hair around. Her face is beautiful but sad, and the memories keep coming back. 

 Remember the time you lent me your car and I dented it? I thought you'd kill me...

~Flash back~ 

It was your first trip to the human world, you were so excited. (Y/N) was basically running to keep up with her boyfriend Kisuke Urahara, Captain of the 12th Division. He'd been here before and loved it, you gasped at the sight of a moving metal carriage. He chuckled at your reaction and then came up with a brilliant idea, he looked at you mischievously,  "Hey, Y/N," you looked at him, "Wanna learn how to drive one?" Your eyes grew huge, "How?" you whispered, eyes shining with excitement. He smiled and took you over to one, looking around he opened the door and sat in the shot gun seat. You weren't sure, it was his car. Yes he owned one, he had told you about it before, you cautiously climbed in the driver's seat. You were nervous, he started guiding you gently. Unfortunately, your nerves got the better of you. You crashed into a pole.

But you didn't.

Tears in your eyes, you looked at him and held back tears. He just smiled and shrugged, "It's okay, Y/N, I did the same thing my first time. He pulled you into a reassuring hug. You melted into it, and stayed there for a while.

Remember the time I forgot to tell you the dance was formal, and you came in jeans? 

  I thought you'd hate me...

You were so excited, Kisuke was going to be here soon! It was a formal ball that the Head Captain had agreed to. You had convinced your boyfriend to come, sitting on the balcony in your (F/C) knee length dress, you smiled and then... Kisuke walked in. In his uniform. You forgot to tell him it was formal! Everyone else was wearing suits and dresses, no one was in uniform. Your cheeks burned, you turned away and wanted to cry, how could you forget???

But you didn't.

You turned and he was standing there, his usual smile on his face. He held out his hand to you, "May I have this dance?" You wiped away your tears and smiled, putting your small hand is his, he led you to the dance floor. You spent the whole night dancing.

Remember the times I'd flirt with other boys just to make you jealous, and you were?

 I thought you'd drop me...

You were giggling, Shinji was joking around with you, doing impressions of all the other captains. You were flirting, and you knew it, you just wanted Kisuke to be jealous. You put your hand on his arm, and started giggling, and then you saw Kisuke. He was hurt, he looked down and away. You could tell he was angry, and your heart broke. He started to walk away.

But you didn't.

"OW!" you screamed, Kisuke was suddenly standing next to you, pinching your cheek. He grumbled at you, you threw your arms around him and buried your face into his chest, "I'm sorry, Kisuke..." you whispered into his coat. He kissed the top of your head, "I know."

There were plenty of things you did to put up with me, 

to keep me happy, to love me, 

You were sitting next to each other, laughing and talking. You were the best couple in the Seireitei and everyone knew it. His arm was casually around your shoulder. You were the happiest person in the world. You weren't always the easiest person to love, but he did anyways. You both believed, nothing in this word or any other, could every separate you two.

and there are so many things I wanted to tell you, when you returned from the mission...

"I'll be back shortly," Kisuke said smiling at you, patting your head as you looked at him with worried eyes, "Tessai and I just have to check something out real quick. We'll be back shortly. I promise." You gave him a hug and inhaled his scent, and looking up at him, you smiled, "Be safe." He smiled at you and turned to walk away with Tessai, he glanced back and yelled at you as they walked away. "I'm always safe!" You giggled. Liar. You stood there and waited for him to return.

~End of Flash back~

(Y/N) opened her eyes, and tears slipped down her cheeks as she stood there, and the happiness was gone from her face, no longer was she the girl she used to be, the one with light in her eyes and love in her life. She closed her eyes once more, tears still falling to the ground, and whispered to herself. 

"But you didn't."
