Another crash came and I opened my eyes, I was in a little room. I was on a small bed, even smaller than a single bed, maybe by half. I looked around the room and all there was in there was a little table with a glass on it, a chair beside it and a lamp on a little cupboard. I sat up and looked around a little better. Something on my head hurt me, I put my hand on it and it was hard, I scratched it and red came off, I followed the hardened liquid and came to something that felt like a zip, stitches. It took me a moment to realise what had happened, I must have banged my head a little harder than I thought. I got myself up and looked at the room, it was smaller than I thought. I went over to the door and pulled the handle down, I pushed but it didn’t move. It was locked. “Hello” I called out, it was silent.
I went over to the table to look what was in the glass, it was clear, it must have been water. Another crash of thunder sounded and then it was silent, all I could do was wait. I turned the lamp on and it was bright, the room just lit up. No wonder, a small room didn’t take a lot to light up, a lighter probably could. There was a noise at the door and I jumped to my feet. It opened and a young women came in, she was very pretty, her straight long dark hair stood out most. Her face was very pail that her bright rosy cheeks lit up. She had hard dark eyes.
She came in and looked up at me “Oh, you’re awake” She smiled at me.
“Who are you?” I didn’t know what to ask, I never been in this situation.
“It doesn’t really matter, it will come out later” She was still smiling.
“Where am I?”
“You are fine, it’s ok, I won’t hurt you” She went over to the bed and sat down. She patted the side of it indicating for me to come over. I sat back down on the chair near the table “Ok, I guess I understand why you’d prefer that” It didn’t stop her smiling. “Listen, I don’t know why you’re here, but just try and cope, I don’t think you’ll be here long”
“What do you mean?”
“Well last time I heard them talking I heard them say that you can’t stay here”
“Who?”
“Oh, sorry, Mark, Quinton, Gary-“
“Wait, Quinton?” I cant believe this, I should have known
She was silent for a moment “Listen, are you hungry?”
I had to think about that, because I didn’t know, maybe I should say yes, because then I wont be hungry “Yeah, sort of”
“What do you want?” She said still smiling. It wasn’t a hard smile, it was a soft smile.
“I don’t really mind” I don’t bloody know, how am I suppose to know what I could have.
She jumped up off the bed and went to the door “By the way, names Catraia”
She went out of the room and there was the same noise that went from when she came into the room, she was locking the door.
I looked around the room and it seemed so boring, no homely thing about it, the total opposite of Richie and Ryan’s homes.
Wait, Ryan. I stood up, what if he is still there, what if he is really hurt, what if he didn’t get helped. No need to panic myself, calm down, I need to concentrate on getting out of here first. When I get out I can help him. I sat myself down again and leant my head against the wall, I thought about the dream. How perfect everything was.
The door unlocked and opened, I looked at it and the girl came in. “Hope you don’t mind ham sandwiches, we don’t really have much more” Catraia said walking over to me with a tray. It had a plate with a sandwich on it and a can of coke.
“Yeah, that’s fine thank you, please, my friend, is he ok?”
“Your friend?” She looked at me with wondering eyes.
“Um, Yeah, he was with me” I looked at her, she had a blank expression on her face. “He was hurt”
“Um. I don’t know, I can see if I can find out, or see if I can get someone to talk to you” She set the tray down on the little table and walked out again. The same noise when she shut the door. I went over to the table and looked at the sandwich, it looked normal, just a plain ham sandwich. I picked it up and looked inside each part of bread, it was just plan bread, butter and ham, I took a small bite into it and it tasted just as a ham sandwich. I carried on eating it until it was finished, I picked the can up and went over to the bed. I cracked it open a took a sip. Anything to pass time, I looked at the can and I was that bored I started reading the small writing on it. The door opened and Catraia came in “Um, Vicky, this is Mark, he is going to tell you something’s” She smiled.
I made a cautious face and she mouthed ‘Don’t worry, it’s fine’. I gave her a nod and she let him in.
A tall man came in, he had to duck under the door to get in. He came in and went over to the chair. He winked at Catraia and she smiled and went out and shut the door. Ok, I was fine with him in here to talk to me, but not on our own. I looked at the door hoping it would open again.
“Hello Vicky, I’m Mark” I turned my head and he was crouched over using his arms to rest on his knees. “It’s alright, no threat here”
“Why am I here?” Maybe he could answer me
“Quinton wanted a bit of payback and brought you here, we had no clue of it” He looked serious
“What about my friend?”
“Ryan, he is fine, I sent someone over and Pete had found him, he is ok”
“Wait, if your with Quinton, then why did you go see if Ryan was ok, I mean you two are suppose to hate each other aren’t you?”
“Past, we used to hate each other, Quinton changed that, he damaged you badly and we saw what it did to Ryan, We left it at that, but Quinton and a few others didn’t care”
“Then let me go” If they didn’t want me here, then why have me here?
He looked at the floor and was silent “Unfortunately, we can’t trust Ryan, he is probably very angry at the fact of the damage Quinton has made, we have to make sure he will give us a chance to let you go” He looked up at me and must of seen my expression, he put his hands up “Wow, calm down, I hear you turn a bit Victoria when your angry”
“Hmm, really, then let me go” I was trying to stress myself out.
“We can’t, I’m sorry” I think he wants me to turn Victoria. No, calm down, if I behave, maybe I can go.
“Well, why don’t you let me go with out him knowing, then I can go to him” That makes sense, if they don’t want me here, let me go.
“Well, we can’t really trust you with it. Old haters can’t really be trusted, you must see my point here” Strangely, yes I did.
I didn’t answer him. How could I. “If you want anyone, or need something, just hit on the door. If your not happy with someone being here, just tell them to leave. Quinton will stay away”
“Why did he bring me here anyway?”
He was silent, he looked up at me, opened his mouth but it found No words “He… he wanted to hurt you, but we didn’t allow it. We don’t think its right” Is this a trick? “Well, I will get Catraia to get some water and clothes so you can clean your um- thing” He pointed at my head. I put my hand there and remembered the dried blood. He made a tight smile and stood up.
“Can I have a mirror? To see where I’m cleaning” I cant concentrate on it if I cant see it.
“I’ll see what I can do” He walked to the door and opened it, he stopped and I realised that Catraia must have still been there. He wedged out of the door and shut it, it locked and I could hear them talking, he was just telling Catraia to get the water and mirror. It was silent and boring again.
