Chapter 4:Arrival

"Is that the type of power I can achieve should I train under you?"He said as he watched the blade Alex held.Staring at it as he wondered what would be its next victim."Anyway sorry to cut your thinking off,I think we should start heading towards that over there."Alex's words snapped Jaune away from his thoughts as he turned to look at where Alex was pointing at.

A base. A place where they could be safe until they had to be dispatched."Why are we here? Let's get over to that base now!"Jaune sounded enthusiastic for once."That's the spirit."A calm Alex told him as he sheathed Assassins breath into its sheathe before walking towards the base.

A few minutes of walking later and they arrive just at the outskirts of the base.The towers surrounding it carried,cannons that blasted at anything that was hostile."Oh you've gotta be kidding me."Jaune groaned out as he watched Nevermore turn into nothing when a cannon shot hit them.Alex who was now thinking of ways of how to get into the base was too distracted to notice a Beowulf sneaking up on him before lunging,Jaune who heard the sounds of something crawling towards them immediately he pulled the weapon he was given which was a sword out of its sheathe and slashed at the wolf monster a few times. Most of the attacks missed due to Jaune attacking in a blind fury but some found their mark and did considerable damage to drive the beast away."Nice job there!"The crimson haired Faunus told the blonde individual who was panting heavily."Thanks."He said meekly as the tower they were closest to turned its crosshairs onto them."Fuck."Jaune uttered out.

But after a few seconds of awkward silence save for the sounds of battle raging all around them.A voice emanated from the tower."Get to the entrance! It's just beside this tower!"Jaune took back his swear in silence as he followed Alex who was running in a mad dash towards the entrance which was a small door,big enough for a human or Faunus but was reinforced enough to stand Ursai attacks.

The door let out a hissing sound and the both of them ran inside before they were held at gunpoint by some soldiers who wore masks."Lay down your weapons and get into the barracks."One of the 6 soldiers said in a tone of commandment."Best to do as they say Jaune."But Jaune immediately tossed his sword onto the ground and began kissing said ground."Oh sweet heavens! I'm alive!"He yelled out in a fit of pure ecstasy. One of the soldiers grunted and spoke."Is your friend alright?"He nodded to the blonde who was still kissing the ground."Him? He's fine. The guy's survived being attacked by Ursai and Nevermore so let him have his moment for a few seconds." And with that,Jaune got up and began hastily walking towards the aforementioned barracks.Alex laid his weapon and gauntlets down onto the ground but then,the soldier who asked about Jaune said to Alex"You can keep your weapons. You seem smart enough to not cause trouble."He placed his gauntlets back on and nodded to the soldier."Thanks."Before running off towards the barracks to enjoy a well deserved break from the fighting. Even if it was for a short time. Which would be about 6 hours before the base went into red alert."Oh you're fucking kidding me."Alex groaned out as the blaring alarms sent him falling off of his bed and onto the stone floor.Groaning once more the fox tried to get up but was helped up by his friend."Morning Jaune"Te blonde recruit said nothing as he smiled and nodded at him."So. What is it now?"Jaune explained the situation to him in the sum of a few sentences."Army of Beowulves,Ursai,Nevermore,Deathstalkers,Griffons."
