"SHE'S AWAKE!!!"
Cullen froze where he stood. He almost couldn't believe what he just heard the young elf say. The healers had told him that they were doubtful that she would ever wake. But he couldn't help feeling nervous about finally getting to speak to this remarkable woman. Just don't get too excited! She is a mage, after all, said a small voice in the back of his head.
Cullen finally turned around and headed back into the Chantry. The young elf almost ran into him as she ran back outside. He walked up to the ladies, who were trying to figure how to handle this.
"Roderick is going to want to speak to her, you know that, right?" Leliana said.
"I know, but she just woke up and I'm sure that he will only upset her," Cassandra said with a sigh.
"Well you know how quickly word spreads in Haven. So many have been waiting to catch a glimpse of this woman sent by Andraste herself. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire town knows already." Josephine said.
"Well, now that you mention it......" Cullen said pointing over his shoulder at the door.
They could hear the crowd before they even reached the doors. As they walked outside, they saw the people lining the street leading to the Chantry. People were pushing and shoving, hoping to see her. Cullen and the others stood in front of the Chantry doors and waited. They didn't have to wait long as they could hear many members of the crowd start to cheer and clap, signifying that she was on her way.
Moments passed and Cullen's heart was pounding. Why was he acting like this? She doesn't even know me but yet I'm excited to see her, he thought. He was even starting to stand taller to see if she was getting close. Then the crowd parted and there she stood.
She was even more beautiful in the sunlight. The light made her red hair look like it was aflame. She finally had some color in her cheeks. And those eyes, he just couldn't get over how green they were.
Cassandra cleared her throat, causing Cullen to snap out of his thoughts.
"Welcome Lady Trevelyan. It is good to see you are awake and well. Please follow us inside." she said, leading the way back into the Chantry.
Ariava timidly followed behind Cassandra. Next was Leliana and Josephine with Cullen bringing up the rear. Cassandra stopped in the center of the atrium and turned to face Ariava.
"How are you feeling?" she asked.
"I feel fine, for the most part. I'm just still very confused about everything that has happened." Ariava replied. She looked down at her hand and the Mark pulsed.
"Does it still hurt?" Leliana said, with concern in her eyes.
"Yes but not as much as it did before. I just want to know what it means." she replied.
"Let me introduce you to everyone......" Cassandra said before Chancellor Roderick stepped out of the wing and interrupted her.
"Seeker, would you and Leliana mind if I speak with you and the prisoner for a moment?" he said.
"Yes Chancellor, we will meet you inside the war room." she replied.
Ariava looked at the chancellor and then back at Cassandra. "I'm assuming he wants me arrested?"
"Don't worry about that right now, just come with us."
Cassandra lead her away. Leliana turned to Josephine and Cullen and said, "Stay close, we may need your help soon." She turned and walked away towards the war room.
Cullen and Josephine went into the ambassador's office, leaving the door open. Josephine sat behind her desk and Cullen sat across from her in a chair.
