You were up all night reading an interesting book given to you by Monty. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. You groaned placing the book down and walked to the door. You opened the door to your surprise it was your mother.

"Grab your things we're going to John's place" She said quickly walking into her room.

"Why? Its late," you asked. Why on Earth are we going to their pace so late at night.

"It's John's father," she paused "he got arrested."

"What!?" You were confused by all of this. Murphy's dad was never type to do something illegal.

"I'll explain later, go get your things!" She pointed to your room violently. You could tell it was serious by the stress your mother was going through.

The two of you quickly made your way down to the Murphy residence. Your mother knocked on their door once before it opened up. Murphy's mother had a tissue in her hand, her cheeks stained with tears.

"Come in" she said shakily opening the door a little bit wider. The two of you walked in. "John is in his room" she sniffled.

"Thank you," you said giving Murphy's mother a hug "everything is going to be okay" you let go and walked to Murphy's room.

You knocked on the door first before opening it. You flicked on the light switch to see Murphy covered by his blanket from head to toe.

"Y/n?" He croaked lowering the blanket from over his head. His eyes were puffy with fresh tears on his cheeks.

"John...Hes going to be okay" you said pulling him into a hug.

"Hes going to get himself floated, and it's all my fault" he cried into your shoulder.

"Shh" you said quietly while stroking his hair "everything is going to be okay"

"No its not" he said letting go of you "he stole the medicine for me" he said angrily pointing at himself.

"It's not your fault" you said placing your hand onto top of his "your dad loves you John, he was just trying to help"

He looked into your eyes and down to your lips.

You saw his movement and couldn't help but blush.

Murphy moved a little bit closer almost closing the space between the both of you.

"John" you whispered looking at his parted lips.

He placed his hand on your cheek and kissed you softly.

You kissed him back wrapping your arms around his neck.

He parted away almost immediately "i'm sorry" he said quietly. His cheeks faded red and he turned his attention to the floor.

"Its okay" you smiled.

He looked back up at you and smirked. "Please don't ever leave me" he said pulling you into an embrace.

"I won't" you said hugging him back.

"Pinkie promise?" He laughed taking out his pinkie finger.

You laughed "I promise we'll always stick together no matter what" you said wrapping your pinkie finger around his.

~The next day~

"Wake up" Murphy's mom said shaking him slightly. The two of you must've fallen asleep together last night. You found yourself curled up next to Murphy.

"Wake up" she repeated "Go get ready for your father's trial" she said concern on her face before leaving the room.

Murphy got up immediately making you tumble around on the bed.

"Are you sure you're healthy enough to go?" You asked.

"I'm fine," he said doing a full 360 turn. "See?" He smirked.

"Whatever" you rolled your eyes at him and walked to the washroom down the hall. You turned around to see Murphy still smirking at you.

"What are you looking at?" You asked with a grin on your face.

"Nothing" he laughed closing the door to his room.

You smiled and walked into the washroom.

You, your mom, Murphy and his mom made their way down to the conference room. You and Murphy were behind his and your mothers who were talking about the possible outcomes. Murphy held your hand and squeezed it tightly. You looked up at him but he was staring straight ahead. You followed his gaze and squeezed his hand back, you were a few meters away from the room. You could see Kane standing in front of the door with his hands behind his back.

"Good morning Ms. Murphy and John," he greeted "you too y/n and Ms.y/l/n." He looked at the two of you "i'm afraid only family are allowed to join the session, I'm sorry."

Murphy looked at you "lts going to be okay" you smiled at him reassuringly.

"Good luck" your mother said to them.

Kane opened up the door. Murphy smiled back at you before following his mother into the room. Inside you can see Jaha, Murphy's father and his arresting officer around a rectangular table. "You can wait there," Kane said pointing at the chairs behind you before closing the door behind him. You sighed and sat down on the chair.

"They're going to be fine" your mom said placing her hand on your shoulder.

"Hopefully" you said pulling out the book Monty gave you.

Time passed, you could hear yelling muffled by the walls. Your mom fell asleep and you finished the book. You got up and decided to take a walk. It was a peaceful and quiet day on the Ark, the one thing you can't erase from your mind is Murphy's dad being floated. You stopped at a window that showed the stars and Earth. I wonder what its like on Earth you thought.

"Hey y/n" Clarke said beside you "Its beautiful isn't it?"

You jumped hearing her voice "Oh hey," you sighed.

"Whats wrong?" she asked looking at you.

"Nothing," you said shaking your head while running your hand through your hair. "I don't want to talk about it"

She shrugged "what do you think Earth is like?" she asked.

"I read books about it, lots of trees, a light blue sky and lots of water" you said staring at the blue and green planets.

"The oceans probably look beautiful" she sighed.

You looked at the watch on Clarke's wrist "nice watch" you pointed out.

"Thanks," she smiled re adjusting it "It was my father's"

"Was he?" you paused.

"Floated?" she asked "Yes he was," she said bitterly.

You noticed the time on Clarke's watch "I-I have to leave" you said jogging down the hall.

"Wh- why?" she yelled.

"Bye Clarke!" you yelled before turning around the corner.

You walked down the hall that lead to the conference room. You took a deep breathe in not knowing if they are done or not.

"I'm back, sorry I took so lon-" you were cut off seeing your mom comforting Murphy's mother who was in tears. You turned your attention to Murphy who had his head in his hands.

"What happened?" you asked slowly approaching them.

Murphy looked up at you his eyes puffy and drenched in tears. "Hes going to get floated" he croaked through tears.
