Its been a couple of weeks since Murphy's father been floated and its been hectic since. Murphy's mother grew a heavy addiction to alcohol since. Murphy would always say its fine but when you look in his eyes you can see the pain. When you visit Murphy, his mother was always in her room surrounded by bottles upon bottles of alcohol.

"John, are you sure-" you were cut off.

"I told you a million times y/n," he said looking at you "I'm fine" he changed his gaze to looking at the floor.

You wrapped your arm around his "you can always talk to me, we've been friends since diapers," you laughed shrugging.

"I know" he smiled admiring your touch.

~Time skip~

It was late at night, your mom and her boyfriend were out working leaving you the only one at home. You stared at the ceiling wondering how late it was, your thoughts were interupted when you heard a loud knock on the door. Confused you forced yourself out of bed thinking it was probably your mom at the door.

You opened the door rubbing your eyes "I thought you were working longe- John?" you asked.

You squinted letting your eyes adjust to the figure standing at your doorway. It was John but his hair was a mess, hes breathing frantically and are those tears?

"Murphy whats wrong? What happened?" You asked confused.

"My mom," he said breathing heavily "shes on the ground, shes not breathing I-I don't know what to do." He said pacing back and forth and running his hands through his hair. "Please help her." He begged.

Shocked you quickly ran back to his home to see his mother lifeless on the ground. You checked for a pulse. Nothing, she was cold.

"She said it was all my fault," John's voice cracked. "Its my fault." tears streaming down his face.

You looked to see him pale and shaking, "John come sit," walking over to the couch patting the seat next to you.

John completely ignored your offer "its all my fault," he repeated looking at his mother's lifeless body.

You got up from the couch and hugged him tight "We have to tell Abby," you said letting go. "maybe she can find out what happened."

All John did was simply nod.
