We've known the Lynch's for a month now and my mom is going to Africa with their parents. We haven't really ever seen their kids or their house.
"What mom?!" I whined
"I'm sorry sweetie, but you have to. They're good people. It'll go by quickly. I promise." she said kissing my forehead and getting into the car. I waved and sat on the yard and tried not to cry.
"It's gonna be like a year with out rain," I said to myself. I closed my eyes as a tear ran down my face.
"Well, you can at least try to have fun, or be miserable for a whole year," someone said which made me jolt up startled.
I looked over to see Rocky laying on the ground next to me. I laid back down and relaxed again
"Why did you parents have to go to Africa exactly?" I asked angrily
"I don't know, they like taking time off and going somewhere far away for a while." he guessed
"Why are you out here?" he asked as we stared at the sky. I shrugged
"Why are you out here?" I said mimicking him
"Geez. I was just wondering. Don't have to be so mean." He scoffed
I stayed quiet. I closed my eyes again and let out a deep breath. I felt a drop hit my face, then another, and another. I opened my eyes to see it was raining. Rocky looked like he was asleep and about two minutes later he jerked up and grabbed my hand as we ran inside. By then I was soaking wet.
"Guys it's raining!" he announced. Everyone got excited and ran outside. He let go of my hand and followed everyone else outside. I looked out the door to see them all dancing. I was finally alone
"They like going out and dancing in the rain," I jumped and turned around to see Ryland standing on the stairs. I shivered because I was cold.
"Why aren't you out there with them?" I asked glancing out the door.
He shrugged and came down the stairs slowly. My heart started pounding for some reason.
"I'm... I'm gonna go and um..." I said rushing out the door. Lightning flashed which made me jump, then thunder rolled and I got worried.
"Guys, it's not safe out here, we could get struck by lighting." nobody cared. Lighting flashed and hit a house really close to their house
"Everyone inside! Now!" Riker ordered
We all sprinted inside and right when we got in, lighting hit right where we were dancing.
Riker brought us all towels and I wrapped mine around my shoulders.
I was sitting on the ground in front of the Tv watching Jessie.
"See, it's not like a year with out rain," rocky said sitting next to me.
"I know! I was exaggerating." I said turning the volume up louder.
The commercial of R5 singing Forget About You came on and I changed it immediately. Right now I don't want anything to do with them.
"Hey! i wanted to see how good I look," Rocky is so full of himself
"This just in! Rocky is does not look good I repeat Rocky does not look good," I said pretending to be a news reporter. He got up and left me alone and for about an hour nobody bothered me, which made me feel sad. My heart sunk and I was very cranky for the rest of the night.
"What's up with her?" Rydel asked someone. I was on the couch laying with a pillow on my face and covered in a blanket because I got mad at Ellington, I don't even know why.
