"First things first. Where do you live?"

"In a ship."

"Um... where are you from?"

"Marines prison."

Temari sweatdrops. "I mean, where did you grow up?"

Zoro leans back against the wooden chair in the green Sunagakure interrogation room. "A dojo."

"Where?"

"A village."

Temari stands up and scowls, anime vein on her forehead. "Real answers!!!"

"Temari," Gaara says softly, "Let me handle it."

Zoro starts snoring. Temari hits him over the head before sitting back down. "Nami?" He rubs his eyes. "Oh, no, it's you." He leans back again.

Gaara stares at Zoro.

Temari smirks and remains silent.

Zoro resumes snoring.

Gaara and Temari continue staring.

Zoro opens one eyelid slightly but continues to snore. He sweatdrops.

They wait.

Zoro waits.

Nothing happens.

10 minutes later....

Zoro finally jumps up. "What do you want?!?!?!?!"

Gaara looks him in the eye. "Fight me."

"Fine then!" Zoro shouts and unsheathes his katanas. His eyes begin to glow red.

Gaara silently analyzes him before turning the room into a swirling mass of sand.

"Outside guys," Temari says dryly. She begins pushing them towards the window.

A painted faced puppetteer appears in the doorway. "Gaara? Is there-"

"Break the glass Kankuro!" Temari orders.

Kankuro question marks but sends a puppet to punch through the window.

Gaara and Zoro stare each other down, each daring the other to make a move.

Temari brings out her white and puple fan. "Ready... Third star." She opens her fan and whips the duellers through the window.

Kankuro and Temari rush to watch them land on their feet 5 stories down and several hundred yards away. Gaara and Zoro never break eye contact.

Temari scratches the back of her head and shrugs. The two sand siblings jump down to the ground.

Strength. The true test of every person everywhere. If you are worth anything, you must be strong.

This Gaara IS strong.

Why I've never heard of him before, or if he's the leader of this strange desert kingdom? Where we are in the first place? I couldn't care less.

I grin.

We'll find out who's stronger, right here. Right now.

I take my stance.

At last, he blinks.

I rush forward, slashing.

A wall of sand appears in front of me.
