Over the next few days Xavier and I spent as much time together as we could. We would just talk and laugh like we had that day at McDonald’s. I still had some doubt about him lingering in the back of my mind but, there really wasn’t anything I could do about them. The only way I would be able to settle it all is if I called off the wedding and that was a no go.
Xavier had taken me to his place the day after our lunch so I could see his Art studio. I wasn’t really into art all that much so he had to explain a lot of it to me. It also didn’t help that he wanted me to draw something for him. Yeah, that didn’t go so well since all I can really draw are stick figures (even they aren’t that great). Even my flowers suck.
I hadn’t seen or talked to my parents at all since my last confrontation with my mother. I hadn’t seen Maria either. I tried to stay away from my house as much as possible during the day. In the mornings my parents would be gone before I woke up and asleep when I got home. They never called to check up on me during those times and it didn’t bother me one bit. I already knew I had messed up parents so their lack of care so to speak wasn’t all that surprising.
“Hey Ree,” Elena exclaimed waltzing into my room with a smile on her face.
“Hey Elly,” I smiled spinning around in my desk chair.
“Is she ready?” Corrie asked looking through her phone while she walked in.
“Ready for what?” I asked tilting my head to the side, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Um, it’s Friday.” Corrie stated
“I know that...” I said slowly.
“We have to meet up with Sharon to get the dresses sorted.” Elena said
“I thought that was tomorrow, on the 6th.” I said
“Today is the 6th, are you and Xavier having so much fun that you’ve gotten you’re days mixed up?” Corrie joked
“Not the kind of fun you’re thinking,” I said flatly. I was still a virgin dammit, I wouldn’t having ‘that’ kind of fun anytime soon, maybe not ever.
“Uh-huh, whatever you say,” Elena sing-songed skipping out of the room.
I just shook my head and followed them out. Once we reached outside I came to the realization that the girls hadn’t come in their own cars and mine wasn’t needed. There was a limo sitting in my drive way. I rolled my eyes at the sight and followed the girls into it. I don’t think I would ever understand why rich people chose limo’s over driving themselves. I was perfectly happy with driving my own car.
