“Remember during the wedding we talked about the honeymoon?” Xavier asked.
Nearly a month had passed since we had gotten married. In that time Xavier and I spent way more time together. It’s safe to say that we spent more time with one another then we did with anyone else. Most of our time was spent in either the kitchen, art studio or backyard. I hadn’t really mastered the art of drawing or painting much to Xavier’s amusement. But, I was getting better in the kitchen everyday. I could now successfully make Xavier a meal without worrying that he would get food poisoning.
The week after the incident at school with the press I had worked something out with our school principle. Since I only needed three more credits to graduate, I would only go to school for those three classes. The rest of my classes I would do the work from home. I actually preferred only being in school for three hours. Things with the press hadn’t died down and because of that I was no longer allowed to drive myself to school (which I found highly ridiculous by the way).
Every day I would either ride with the girls or I would be dropped off by either Xavier, Cole or Liam. Personally I thought they were taking things to the extreme, just a bit. But, they had all said that I wouldn’t be allowed to drive myself until everything with the press had died down. I didn’t think that it would be anytime soon considering how long they’ve been camped out at the school and our house.
“Earth to Mallory,” Xavier called out waving his hand in my face.
Shaking my head I looked over at him. “What?” I asked. I hadn’t even heard him come into my room.
“I was trying to talk to you about the honeymoon.” he chuckled
“Oh, right, what about it?”
“Would you still like to go?” he asked lifting my hand and playing with my fingers. “Spring break is starting up and two weeks and I thought it would be good for us to get out of town for a while.”
“Where are you going to take me?” I asked leaning back against my headboard.
“Now that, my dear wife, is a secret.” he grinned “I do have a proposition for you though,”
“This is our honeymoon we’re talking about Xavier, not a damn business deal.” I said flatly “The whole point of our marriage was because of a business deal, I’ve have enough of those to last me awhile.”
“Just hear me out,” he said “Here’s the proposition: I pick where we’ll be going for our honeymoon and you cannot ask any questions about our destination. In return, during Summer vacation you can pick anywhere you want to go, for as long as you want and we’ll do it.”
“Anywhere?” I asked. He nodded. “No matter how long I want to stay, we’ll stay?” He nodded again. “You’ve got yourself a deal Mr. Chase.” I said holding out my hand.
“I’m glad, Mrs. Chase.” he grinned taking my hand and kissing my knuckles instead of shaking it like I had thought he would. “Now, about dinner, you should be getting ready.”
“Why, aren’t we staying in?” I asked confused
“No we are not,” he replied with a shake of his head. “As of a half hour we have been officially married for a month and I would like to take my beautiful wife out to dinner.”
