I Have An Interesting Family Reunion
"Alright Chiron, I'll see if we can come. Expect us tonight or early tomorrow morning, and try to give us a warm welcome. Thank you for telling me." I waved my hand through the Iris-Message and the centaur's face disappeared, along with Dionysus cursing him in the background for being beat at pinochle once again.
I sighed as I slumped heavily in the throne. Hylla appeared at my side. "What is it my--" I glared at her. "Annabeth?"
"It's Chiron. Camp Half-Blood is being targeted, yet again. I know normally you would never do something like this, but since I'm Queen now we are going to Camp. We have to help them." I stood from the throne and grabbed my backpack that was sitting at the foot of it. I checked to make sure everything was in it before picking up a duffle bag to stuff with my weapons, armor, and magical items.
"I agree." Hylla grinned and backed away. "Shall I tell the rest of the Warriors?"
"Yes, make sure they gather all of their weapons, armor, and other necessary objects. I don't know how long we will stay, hopefully not longer than 2-3 weeks. I want them ready by sundown."
Hylla nodded and ran out of the room. I continued to pack my bag until it was filled to the brim with offensive and defensive mechanisms. Occasionally an Amazon would rush in and ask a quick question, or grab a weapon, or search the many boxes for something, and then zip out. I waited patiently and soon, it was sundown.
We gathered outside and I looked over the array of warriors. I smiled at the number as they lined up. At my command, we marched down to our private dock where a large warship was waiting. Once everyone was on board, I sent a prayer to Poseidon and burned a portion of my food for him. He replied swiftly and the boat lurched into the water, traveling at unnatural speeds. I thanked him and moved belowdecks to wait. Hylla saw me go down and gave instructions to the captain and the Amazons. She followed me down and we waited.

The bell rang and Amazons poured onto the deck. I stood at the railing and watched as the familiar beach appeared. I was almost home.
I surveyed the deck and inhaled. The sea spray filled my vision and wafted into my nose. It was pleasant but also unpleasant at the same time. I loved the smell, but it reminded me of Percy. I took a deep breath and brushed my hair out of my eyes. I wished I could tuck it into my hat, but I didn't really want to turn invisible at the moment.
Hylla stepped up to the rail next to me. "Are you ready for this? To see them again after a year of being away?"
I sucked in another breath and nodded my head. "Yeah, let's go see my friends." I smiled as the boat hit the bank of the ocean. The Amazons filed out of the boat behind me and we trudged around in the wet sand. A conch horn sounded and kids of all ages trampled over the sand. Donned with armor, helmets and shields, they wielded their weapons at us. Clarisse stood at the front and glared.
"Don't come any closer! We will fight you, and you will lose." She snarled. I heard the clopping of hooves and knew Chiron was on his way.
"Woah, woah, woah. Clarisse, it's me! Hello? Annabeth? Prissy's girlfriend, daughter of Athena?" I pushed my way the crowd and stood in front of her. I held my hands up in surrender.
"Annabeth?" She peered closer at me as if to be sure. "It really is you! We thought you disappeared, that you died! We thought Chiron was lying, but here you are!" Losing her tough girl attitude for a minute, she dropped her weapons and rushed forward to hug me. She crashed into me and almost knocked me over.
I laughed and hugged her too. She jerked away quickly and straightened her armor. She turned back to the crowd of campers and assured them that we were not enemies. "Chiron will want to see you."
Speak of the devil, and he will appear. Not really, Chiron's not the devil. But just then he appeared and trotted up to me. "Ah, Annabeth. You're here! Thank you for coming right away, sorry about the un-warm welcome." He looked over at the Amazons and saw them glaring daggers at the men. "Uh, tell the Queen to try to keep them under wraps, please. I'd rather not have to continuously find the boys in orange jumpsuits with collars around their necks. Or worse."
I nodded, "Don't worry. I'm Queen, so I'll be able to watch them. I don't share their hatred of men." I laughed.
He patted me on the shoulder. "We have missed you. Grover is waiting as well, he was one of the few who believed me."
As he spoke, Grover came crashing out of the trees and ran into me. "Annabeth! You could have said goodbye in person!" He managed to speak before he was pulled away and sword, spear, and dagger points faced him. "Um, Annabeth?" He bleated nervously. "Would you mind? I don't like sharp things pointed in my direction."
"Sorry. Amazons, stand down. Don't attack any of these men at any time, unless you are 100% sure that they are spies or I have told you to. Am I clear?" I glared at them. I had been taking after Percy in trying to master his death glare, I think I was close. They reluctantly lowered their weapons and let go of Grover.
I smiled at the campers and caught up with them. I was introduced to the new campers, and two familiar campers ran up to me. "Hey Annabeth!" The son of Hephaestus and daughter of Aphrodite chorused.
"Hi, Leo. Hi, Piper. How's Camp been?" I hugged them both and introduced them to Hylla, Tansy, and Tammy.
"Great! We just wish you hadn't left so quickly, we could have used you to help guide us. Oh, we found out that I'm a charmspeaker." Piper answered for both of them and I noticed their hands were linked. It seems like Aphrodite has been playing around again, with her own daughter.
I grinned at the pairing before a blinding light flashed at the top of the hill. Chiron appeared next to me, "Ah. Our other help has arrived. I think you'll like them, Annabeth."
I looked at Chiron weirdly, but ran towards the hill, the campers and Amazons on my tail. I turned the corner and the hill came into my view. My gaze traveled up from the bottom of the hill until I saw Thalia's tree. When I saw the people standing next to it, my heart melted.
There they were: Thalia, Nico, Bianca, Zoë, and Luke. And last but definitely not least, the person I wanted to see the most. The person I had ached for since he left.
Percy.
