Percy Learns After His Dramatic Uncle

The next day, Percy and I were walking to the sword-arena when a camper sauntered up to us. He had the look of an Ares child; cocky, big, impulsive, and annoying. I didn't recognize him, so I knew he must have arrived at camp after I left. He got right up in Percy's face and jabbed a finger in his chest, confirming that he was a child of Ares. "I don't believe you're Chaos. You don't look tough, or that you have any powers. Who's your parent? Dionysus? Hypnos?"

Percy sighed and I glared at the son of Ares, but Percy gently pushed me back before I could do anything. "I'm the only demigod son of Poseidon, and I am Chaos, but I still have my powers of a child of Poseidon. Believe me now?"

"No!" He sneered. "Anyone could say that, but you have no proof. Duel me." No sooner had the words left his mouth than Percy flicked his hands and any source of water within two-hundred feet exploded. The water swirled around us and the wind picked up. Percy was creating a mini storm.

The boy's face grew colder. "Fight me with your weapon, coward!" Percy grimaced, and I guessed what was going on in his mind. He knew that the demigod would regret asking for a fight. I smirked and waited, knowing he would get his podex whipped.

"Fine." Percy released the water and stopped the winds. He pulled out Riptide and uncapped it, while the camper unsheathed a long sword strapped to his back. I backed away and the opponents twirled their swords, before the demigod sprung forward.

In one quick move, Percy blocked his strike, disarmed him, and sent him sprawling on the ground. "Believe it now?" He asked as he held both swords at the demigod's throat. He quickly nodded and swallowed.

"Sorry!" He squeaked. Percy grinned before helping him up and handing him his sword. The son of Ares took it and ran off, as if he had his tail between his legs. Percy capped Riptide and put it in his pocket. I laughed and turned back to him.

"He really shouldn't have done that." I chuckled as I pulled Percy back into my arms and he kissed the top of my head.

"Yeah, but you know I hate doing that."

"You know I do Seaweed Brain." I felt him smile into my hair and we continued towards the arena. We reached the arena, and my plan was put into action.

As soon as we turned the corner, the Amazons ambushed Percy. I spun away from him and joined them. Percy cursed in Greek as he dodged arrows and other assorted weapons. "You couldn't resist, Annabeth, could you?"

"Nope." I slashed at him with my dagger before dancing back. Percy growled as he pulled out Riptide again and began slashing spears out of the air and blocking strikes. The Amazons blurred together as we fought. At one point I saw Tansy and Tammy fly past me and crumble to the ground, their limbs tangled together. More Amazons flew across the arena and were knocked out by Percy.

At one point, I was fighting back to back with Hylla. I picked up a fallen sword along with my dagger and slashed at Percy's arm. The sword shattered on contact and I remembered he had the mark of Achilles. I cursed and dropped the hilt of the sword and continued to block his cuts with my dagger.

Hylla whipped away from my back and lunged in to hit Percy. He spun out of the way and crashed the hilt of his sword over her head, and she fell to the ground. I looked around the arena and saw that I was the only one standing.

I groaned and sprang at Percy. He ducked and turned away before countering with a strike to the hand that held my weapon. A thin line of blood appeared and I winced. I pulled out my Yankees hat and tugged it over my head.

Percy froze and closed his eyes, concentrating to find me. Not making a sound, I crept around him until I faced his back. I took a few silent steps forward, before jumping and placing my dagger on the small of his back.

I smiled and took off my hat. Percy stiffened even further and I heard laughter. Percy's team had gathered in the bleachers and were snickering. I looked at them puzzled, but didn't move my knife. "I surrender . . ." Percy spoke and I smirked, loosening my grip on the hilt of my dagger.

". . . or maybe not." Percy spun quickly and kicked my dagger out of my hand, but not before it scraped his back. As the dagger left my hand, it bounced off of his back and clattered to the ground. I stared in disbelief.

"But--but your Achilles heel? What? How?" I gasped and Percy lunged. I rolled to the side but he was there and pinned me to the ground, grinning.

"I can't have you revealing all my secrets, can I?" He leaned forward before I could react and kissed me. I stopped resisting and closed my eyes, starting to kiss him back, when suddenly, he wasn't there.

I sat up and opened my eyes, glancing around. I heard chuckling higher up and looked at the trees. There he was, sitting at the very top of the highest tree in the area. I glared at him. "Not cool, Seaweed Brain."

"Yeah," a voice chimed in, "Especially when she has me as a friend." Thalia stood next to me and raised her bow.

"Oh, shoot!" Percy exclaimed.

"Yes, 'shoot' is exactly right." Thalia beamed and released her arrow. The black arrow flew straight towards Percy in a speed faster than he could move. The arrow clashed with his chest and shattered, but the force pushed him over.

"Aghhh!" He screamed as he fell down. It seemed like time slowed down, which it probably did. Luke had taken Kronos' powers so he was slowing down time for Percy to be dramatic. "I would like to leave Annabeth my heart. Thalia, my necklace. Zoë, Riptide. And Luke, my shirt." I shook my head in amusement at his antics.

He crashed to the ground as Luke returned time back to it's original speed. He laid there, not moving. I sighed at his immatureness. "C'mon, Percy, let's go wake up my Amazons."

He popped up, completely fine, and joined me. He slung his arm over my shoulder and we woke up each Amazon one by one. Percy's team helped, although each time Beckendorf, Daedalus, Luke, or Percy woke one they would immediately get a slap. They eventually gave up and let Bianca, Thalia, Silena, Zoë, and I wake them.

Hylla winced at being beaten easily once she regained consciousness. "Remind me to never listen to you when we ambush Percy." She poked me in the shoulder, but still laughed.

I smiled as I helped Tansy and Tammy stand. "I hate you." The said in unison.

"I hate you too."
