Fifteen years had passed. Jasmine is now twenty years old. It is now fall of 2012. The birds are chirping outside of her master bedroom. She got out of her master bed ready for the day to come. She is a lively girl, with a big smile and a mind-set. Ever since she entered high school, she planned things from her clothes to her whole life. Now everybody would say that is a huge step in thinking about important matters. Everybody would've said "Jasmine slow down you think too much" or "Jasmine do not plan too early, you do not know what your future holds". Jasmine had heard these things numerous of times. She knew that one of her plans worked out. She knew that Georgetown University was going to be the school of her choosing and it had happened to her. She always thought that being surprised about what the future holds would be too cliché and a waste of time.
"Knock knock knock, rise and shine, the birds are chirping and it is time for wine." Bethany had said through the door. She is now 35 years of age. A strong woman; she does not take the topic of commitment lightly and she taught that to Jasmine as well.
"Wine this early? I am shocked you are behaving in such a provocative way." Jasmine had said while chuckling.
"I couldn't rhyme anything with shine that would match how lovely this morning has been." Bethany said while opening the door.
"There are tons of words that rhymes with shine, you alcoholic wild thing you." Jasmine said while jumping off of bed. She was ecstatic on what this day will hold for her. She knew that this will be a new experience for her and nothing will get in her way when taking in the first day of college feeling.
"Now Jasmine you know I was once wild; I am thirty five now, this age is not to be expressed as 'wild thing'." Bethany said while picking up Jasmine's loose clothing lying on the floor. "Now will you please get yourself ready and come downstairs? Your father informed me that he has an important matter to discuss with you." Bethany knew what the matter was but it was best for Jasmine hear it from the man who made the decision.
"What is the topic now Bethany? My education, the clothes that I wear, what job he wishes me to take on?" Jasmine said while choosing what to wear. Her father always was on her back about owning the corporation after he passes, but Jasmine as stubborn as can be refuses the offer every time. "I mean, can't he take that hint that I want to be a successful lawyer; not a stressed out business owner like he is right now." That was true what Jasmine said; Charles was going through really bad heart problems in the past due to the overload of work for his corporation. After that sick rumor about his corporation he hasn't slept in days. The rumor had surpassed two months ago but Charles was still in awe of what had happened 15 years ago.
"Jasmine, look, I know you do not want to hear about what he has in store for you in the future, but he worries about these stuff for you because that's his way of telling you that he loves you and cares for you, and I will give you a hint, those three topics are not even what he wants to discuss with you about." Bethany said.
Jasmine Smith could smell the scent of bacon and eggs down in the corridor area where her and her father usually sit and eat breakfast. She knew whatever her father wishes to discuss with her she will disapprove anyways. She was always stubborn like her father but had a soft edgy side just like her mother.
Charles was in his late fifties. He was growing streaks of gray hair on his bangs area. He had a kind of beer belly. He also had a brown goatee he has been trying to grow out ever since the rumor; he thought that if he had a new image that everything would surpass the horrid rumor which he had to live with for fifteen years. He was wearing a gray suit with a black tie with shiny black shoes. He was sitting near the breakfast table waiting for his daughter to eat breakfast with him.
