Selenas POV:

I slept over at Justins last night and we talked all about Vanity Fair and how we’d make it as much fun as possible. Because, what people don’t realize is that sometimes those events aren’t fun at all. Some award shows are insanely boring, for a girl I’d say the best part is being able to dress up. I always love dressing up in new dresses, heels and jewelry then I always get to do different and fun things with my makeup. So I left Justins around 4 so I could go home shower, and talk to my mom about how I should wear my hair and do my makeup.

“I’m home!” I shouted as I walked in the door, dropping all my stuff in the living room and looking around for my mom. I had my dress in my arms I was excited to show her and let her know it fit perfectly.

“I’ll be down in a minute sweetie” I heard my mom shout from upstairs, I was too impatient so I just ran upstairs. I found her in her bathroom getting all dressed up.

“Hey Mom, where are you off too tonight?”

“Oh I have some meetings to go to and then me and Brian wanted to go to dinner on the Pier since you’re going to be off doing your prom thing, but don’t worry. We’re not leaving til you’re all ready I’m going to take pictures of you and Justin just like it’s a real Prom!”

“Mommmm” I whined, then giggled at how corny she was. “Well yea know I don’t think normal teenagers have their prom at a Vanity Fair event but oh well. Look at my dress!” I shouted holding it up in front of my body. “It fits perfectly; I tried it on at Justin’s right when I got there”

My mom looked over and held the dress examining its beauty.

“Aw baby you’re going to look flawless in this. Now go in your room and put it on let me see” She said as she turned back to her mirror finishing coloring in her eyebrow.

I walked to my room and dropped all of my clothes to the floor and put my dress on. I heard footsteps behind me and saw my mom and Brian standing right there. Both of them with huge smiles on my face.

“So, how does it look?” I asked both of them

“Beautiful” Brian said “Gorgeous” my mom said as well both of them speaking at the same time.

“Yay! I’m so excited, this is going to be so much fun. Now should I wear my hair up, or down? Should I straighten it? The put it up, I don’t think  I’d straighten it and wear it down with this dress-“ I was speaking mile a minute while looking in my mirror pulling my hair up then letter it drop down to my shoulders trying to figure out which was looked the best. I heard my mom giggle as she sat down on my bed. “Mom you’re supposed to help me decided!” I said looking at her through the mirror smiling.

“Come here real quick Sel” her voice seemed somewhat on edge, although she was still smiling.

I walked over to the bed and sat next to her putting my head on her shoulder and hugging her around her stomach.

“Selena I just want you to know how proud I am of you, you’ve grown up to be such an amazing women. Even under all of this attention, and spotlight. You’re still so humble and nice. I love you very much sweetie.” She said looking deep into my eyes. I hated when she did this, she told me she was proud of me all the time, but times like this when she gets into depth and lets me know how much she loves me always makes me cry.

I smiled up at her and gave her a big hug. A few tears were falling from my eyes and I didn’t know what to say. She knew this was my way of saying thank you and she just rubbed my back. I let go of her wiping away some of my tears when she spoke again, trying to make me smile again.
