***This is going to be a short chapter, just because of how good the cliffhanger is ;) so enjoy xxx***

"Hi, I'm looking for officer Smith?" I said, after walking through the doors of the police station.

"Sorry, ma'am you won't be able to see him. He is very busy," The man at the desk in front of me said with a stern look. I crossed my arms and gave him an even tougher look.

"I'm sorry but I'm his niece and I need to talk to him right away," I got right to the point, using the niece act as something.

"Ma'am he is busy," He looks skeptical. Probably because I didn't resemble Steve in any way.

"Yeah, well I was busy too but I made time in my day to come down and talk to him about some very serious business. So I would appreciate it if you could help me. That's what policemen are for right? Helping people? Because I have a very serious matter I need to discuss and I think my uncle would like to hear it," I made sure to give him the biggest smile I could. He seemed ticked, but rolled his eyes, giving in.

He sighed and gestured with his hand to follow him behind the counter and brought me through a hall filled with offices and desks lined up with people studying cases. Some people were hurrying around others were focused on their computers. I right away saw him- whispering with other men. He looked like he was coming up with a plan.

"Steve!" yelled the man, leading the way for me.

"Sorry guys, let's talk in the conference room in 20" they got up and walked away. "What are you doing here? Are you okay? Did he..." he immediately cut himself off.

"Who? Who Steve? You need to tell me now." I said, going through this conversation many times on my way here.

"What makes you think I have to do that?" he hissed, not seeming like himself.

I stepped closer to him, "because I have a right to know about my father."

He went blank then he chuckled softly, "I knew that you would be smart enough to figure it out. Always been that way." he brought me into a hug. "It's okay, you are safe. He has no idea where you are or anything about you."

"Where is he?" I asked, a little confused at how fast his mood had changed.

"Well," he sighed again, "he was spotted coming back into town. We haven't located him yet, but it's going to alright."

"No that's the thing, it's not," I said, a tear coming down my eye.

"Why would you think that?" he asked, looking down at me.

"Because" I turned my phone to him and hit play on the voicemail I found the random caller had left me. "He wants to meet up with me."
